Description
Ipsos MediaCell+ is an Ipsos market research application which passively collects information about your device and how you consume media. This will help our clients shape the future of publishing and media in the world.
We just need you to enable the prompted notifications and permissions and keep the app running in the background of the phone and you’re good to go! In return, you’ll be rewarded, and the longer you comply with our simple rules, the more rewards you can earn.
Ipsos MediaCell+ utilizes a VPN service to monitor your web traffic. This on-device VPN is not an external server and does not modify your network traffic in any way. The Ipsos MediaCell+ app will also use the device microphone to listen out for coded audio or to generate digital audio fingerprints to measure the TV or radio stations you are tuned to; it will never record any audio.
Ipsos takes very seriously its responsibilities for the security and confidentiality of the information supplied to us by those who take part in the research we carry out.
THIS APP USES ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES
Only if explicit consent has been granted, we use the Android Accessibility Service (AccessibilityService API) to collect your device app, media, and web usage. We do not read any content from any messaging, email, banking or other sensitive applications or websites. All data is aggregated with that of other app users so that you cannot be identified.
THIS APP USES VPN SERVICES
This app uses VPN Services. Ipsos MediaCell+ uses a VPN with consent of the end-user. The VPN collects web usage data on this device and the data is analysed as part of an opt-in market research panel.
• We take every care to ensure that we comply with our legal, regulatory and ethical obligations, including GDPR and the Market Research Society Code of Conduct.
• We’ll never transfer, sell or distribute your personal information.
• We don't collect the content of emails, SMS or other messages you send.
• All data transferred from the mobile device to our servers is encrypted with RSA public/private key encryption before uploading, as well as being transferred over HTTPS.
• We don't collect data from personal websites or apps such as banking.
• The app can be uninstalled at any time to stop all data collection immediately.
Disclaimers:
• When leaving the panel, it is your responsibility to uninstall the app and the VPN certificate in order to prevent further collection of data.

Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows an application to change the Z-order of tasks.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows an application to record audio.
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an application to collect component usage statistics
Declaring the permission implies intention to use the API and the user of the device can grant permission through the Settings application.

3 ★ Very poor, have had app installed for a while now and every few weeks, I get a text or email saying app not working, when showing okay on my phone, now trying to blame make of phone. Have uninstalled, waste of time. 23/4/21 - Have been in touch with panel and will try reinstalling, will update review later.
1 ★ Had the app since January, slows down phone data connection and for all them months I didn't receive the rewards promised, yet happy to take data, start to gey rewards and suddenly say its not working. Had numerous calls where they say everything ok, yet no rewards
1 ★ Would give it more stars but the rewards are very poor 3 devices and all you get is 100 points per month you need hundreds & hundreds of points if not thousands to redeem for a decent gift it should be 100 points per device otherwise it not really worth doing....your response has nothing to do with my review the rewards are very poor and to find anything decent in your catalogue you need hundreds if not thousands of points which would take you years to collect
2 ★ So I tried this again, little improvement battery drain is awful but most of all I can no longer use some apps. Mainly cloudfare 1111 this app will not allow it to run and has turned if a previously running app

5 ★ Very good app if you do not mind phone running a bit slow(now&then, Here or there) You are rewarded by Ipsos as a panel member in which you participate in.👍👍
2 ★ Interferes with other apps. My LEAF app and Borrowbox don't work when this app is running.
1 ★ Since the update the app constantly crashed and force closes on my Phone.
1 ★ Has been a very poor experience so far. Can't connect to any local device, such as a camera, via wi-fi. Randomly drops the internet completely. Internet comes back the instant the VPN is switched off. Then crashes a few times as it attempts to restart. I would not have bothered if I had known it would be this troublesome. Edit- now crashes less often when attempting to restart. All the other problems remain.
5 ★ Perfectly fine on Android 5. I can't even see it on Android 4, though, but that is not a reason to take stars off. Will there be a variant backported for legacy devices? You'd be surprised how many people still have Android 4 secondary devices.
1 ★ Started off so well but then started to mess with my internet to the point that i couldnt even access websites like the bbc. Very poor experience and not worth it for a month just to get a £20 voucher
3 ★ Keeps notifying me to allow accessibility, but I have. So figured it isn't working properly. It's up to date so assume I'm not going to reap any benefits from having it installed.
1 ★ Doesn't work very well with android 11 update. Since getting the android 11 update the app as been randomly closing itself and telling me I need to activate permissions even though I have previously done so.
3 ★ Edit (06/02/2021): I am now beginning to face issues with this app, it causes instability in my WiFi network because when I disable it my WiFi works seamlessly.
4 ★ Was good, but now it keeps constantly disconnecting. Any reasons why this should be?
