2 ★ Poor effort. The app works fine, it just lacks anything resembling useful buttons and features. I think their idea was to encourage you to use voice commands, but let's face it, nobody wants to talk to their TV. Give us a power button, a mute button, shortcuts to apps and settings. The possibilities for smart control of our "smart" TVs are almost endless eg. a tightly integrated app that knows where we are on the tv and provides useful contextual controls, but Google left us in the Stone Age.

2 ★ Great remote. But doesn't work if android TV device had an update. We lost our original remote, and can't control it any other way. Now with the new update my phone in not connected any more. Please fix it that you can use your phone without original remote.

4 ★ Good overall. You control the volume with the phone volume buttons on your phone. The touchpad is very basic. You get a home, back, left right, up down, and select. There's no power button, which is really annoying because we still have to turn on/off the TV manually. My husband is able to turn on the TV (not off) with voice control, but the voice button on mine doesn't work. We have the exact same phone. His touchpad also looks different, a big square (like laptop touchpad), but I have arrows.

1 ★ Very disappointing app. We recently purchased a 4K EKO 65inch Android TV for our bedroom (which is a great quality tv for the price.) Whilst the remote that came with it works a treat, we wanted to be able to use our Samsung android phones as secondary remotes from either side of the bed, however the App is unable to find the TV on standby in Bluetooth mode. It needs to be first turned on using the remote, but then the App takes many attempts to connect to the TV Bluetooth, very hit & miss.

4 ★ I don't get why people have rated poorly; it saved me money and time. It could come with better instructions, but in saying this it is a very simple app. I think for people that are not tech savvy it could be better described. All up it works for my Kogan tv where most apps don't and spam you with adds. Cheers Google.

5 ★ Easy to install (about 1 min) and simple to use (I was up & running in about 2mins as app is like remote control). Changing the channel is easy using DPad option by pressing up or down arrows to surf channels without the TV screen flicking through; Or you have touchpad to do all the stuff your remote does once y get the hang of it. I prefer to use this app rather than remote. Less hassle. I read other feedback about the app and this has not been my experience at all. Quite the opposite.

1 ★ Update: I updated my Android TV last night, remote doesn't even connect now. Clearly this has been abandoned by Google which is disappointing as their is a lot of potential to make a great companion app for what is a widely used system.

3 ★ It doesn't work on every app. Every text field should work with the native keyboard. Google shouldn't let pass an app that can't use the native keyboard and brings its own keyboard to the app. Also, this is a huge lost opportunity at being an Android TV gamepad. Think about it. People would download Android TV games more frequently, potentially spending more, encouraging the platform's growth.

1 ★ Too dificult to connect via bluetooth, it connected twice since I installed the app. Performance is good once connected but before the app is connected, you already finished watching several seasons of tv shows. Improvement should always be prioritized

4 ★ The best feature about this app is the keypad, its so much easier to use the keypad to type something in your Android TV rather than pressing the buttons in the TV remote to find the words. Also, it has a voice recognition feature. Although it does not always provide the accurate search results but still its good.

1 ★ As a TV remote, a basic function would be volume control and a channel changer and it doesn't even have either of those. The developers should try watching TV to know how people watch. The UI looks like it's been designed by someone totally ignorant of it. Other than that, there are minimal functions and they work fine with Android TV. ( TouchPad, Select, play/pause are the only functions it has)

2 ★ All ok but it doesn't type in youtube app of Android tv. Typed matter doesn't get transferred to tv apps where there's no typing bar. Please correct this. There's no channel and volume button. It's very basic remote. Please improve and get more features.

2 ★ This is actually a useful app but coukd be better. The app is missing an on screen volume control. You can use the volume button on the phone when the app is open to control the volume. On screen controls would be better. The other gripe is the placement of the on screen home button. Too often when I get out of the app by swiping up, I hit the home button on the remote app screen. This exits the app but it also makes my TV go to the homescreen which disrupts my TV viewing. No power button.

1 ★ The voice search option has for some reason stopped working completely making this app a useless one. It was working very well but now when I press the microphone icon, nothing works. This app is not being able to use the microphone.

3 ★ Pretty basic app.. Add the features.. Especially quick forward and backward is sorely missing. Those are there but need multiple clicks to bring the control first on the play bar. It should be directly possible to do quick forward or backward
