App permissions

Pixel Launcher 14 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.

Allows an application to bind to third party quick settings tiles.

Allows an application to expand or collapse the status bar.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows an application to read or write the secure system settings.

Allows an application to open, close, or disable the status bar and its icons.

Allows an application to take screen shots and more generally get access to the frame buffer data.

Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.

Allows applications to set the wallpaper.

Allows applications to set the wallpaper hints.

Allows an application to tell the AppWidget service which application can access AppWidget's data.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

Allows an application to request deleting packages.

4 ★ With Android 11, now when I set up either a direct message, or direct dial widget, the contact's picture just shows up as a big white dot on the home screen. And sometimes the contact's pic will show up and sometimes not with existing direct message widgets from previous phone back ups. Hopefully this could be fixed. Thought it was just the beta, but now Android 11 is stable. (Pixel 4 XL)

1 ★ Since the Android 11 update I have blank stripe across the bottom of my home screen where the app suggestions were. I tried the new feature but all the app suggested were already pinned to home screen so it was redundant. I have contacted support but they could not fix it. So I lost the bottom quarter of my screen, what a great new feature.Also how about updating this app it's been 3 years! Really 3 years! Update: the only way to fix the problem is factory reset! 3 ★ I have purchased Nexus and Pixel phones for years trying to have the most minimal Android experience as possible, but this stock launcher shoves the weather and date info into prime 1st home screen real estate with no way to remove it. Android used to be about customization, not locking me into the way that Google thinks I should use the phone. You're not Apple, stop acting like it.

1 ★ It has a permanent Google search bar and, if the Google app is enabled, a permanent full page Google app just by swiping to the left. You can't even change the search engine. My phone came with this and I can't believe it took me so long to switch. Why would anyone go out of their way to install this garbage?

4 ★ I like the launcher but I think there's a bug, when I want to add a widget most of the widgets don't show a thumbnail and if I try to add one of them it will show it but with a text error. Sometimes the widget will work but the thumbnail on the widget picker is still missing.

1 ★ Since the upgrade to Android 11, pre existing Chrome shortcuts on the home screen now show a default Android logo and not the original shortcut icon. Restarting phone briefly fixes this before the icons switch back to an Android logo. New Chrome shortcuts created since Android 11 are unaffected.

1 ★ The android 11 update ruined a perfectly implemented gesture system. Short swipe up for Recents and long swipe up for the app drawer, used it for a complete year with happiness and you just change the way it works. WTH? Didn't you have anything else to improve rather than fix things that don't need a fix?

3 ★ Just moved from iOS to Android and pretty happy with my Pixel in general, however probably the main problem I see so far is unexpectedly weak search ( it's def not what you'd expect from Google). Eg the search doesn't search inside of settings ( not sure if it's Android limitation) or in general to find an installed app you have to know its exact name, for example for Google pay it'll be "pay" not "gpay", or let's say I use Anthem through Sydney health I can't find the app by "Anthem" query.

1 ★ Lack of customization leaves this launcher in the trash. Ancient Nova Launcher so much more sophisticated. So sad Google. Thanks to android 11 I can't take screenshots with Nova anymore, but that is a small price to pay to be able to have a launcher that works the way I want.

4 ★ I miss the feature where from within an app you could press the recents key and then swipe up to access the full app list instead of seeing options for screenshots. the feature has not been available that I have found since installing the beta version for Android 11. I also prefer to the screenshot button being in the power menu instead of being placed at the bottom of the recent app screen. Maybe add feature to customize these options??

4 ★ Pixel 4 XL1. When on the lock screen the swipe input required to bring up the password input is astronomically to large it often takes me multiple swipes to get the darn thing up and is frustrating when trying to get on my phone quickly even since having this phone since launch I still don't have the muscle memory for a swipe that big and 2 squeeze for assistant broke when my phone is locked despite the setting being activated which is frustrating because I love assistant

4 ★ Would love to see a feature where we can lock (and hide!) apps requiring fingerprint scanning or other authentication methods. Edit: Also please let us disable the white tint on the top and bottom borders when using dark wallpaper. It would look nicer especially with black bezels and completely black wallpapers.

4 ★ The only thing this Launcher needs, is more customization, # of homepages and customize each page, also app drawer customization (transparent background percentage, remember last place in menu), Lock Desktop Icons so you don't accidentally mess up desktop/home screen, transparent background along with themes/color schemes that you can cusromit (within reason obviously) there's a ton more, just basically copy Nova Launcher and profit surely Google will do it better. q=>

2 ★ So now with Google Phones if you have this launcher you are forced to use At-A-Glance and other apps you don't want as they can't be uninstalled or disabled - Google is becoming like early 3rd manufacturers and adding bloatware to devices that users do not want or need. You have to use a 3rd party launcher to be able to customise your screens, even other manufacturers are producing more user friendly launchers

2 ★ When using gesture navigation, recent apps now takes way to long to pop up on my pixel 3 on android 11. It takes so long that I think that I don't have any apps open but if I wait long enough they finally show. Please fix.
