1 ★ What's up with the Google camera app on Pixels? I heard elsewhere people have been having trouble out of the blue. Count me among them. My phone has no damage, no unusual apps, no nothing of concern, yet the camera has suddenly stopped working. Maybe after half a dozen or more attempts to launch it, I can get it to work briefly, but that's it. Otherwise, crash, crash, crash. Please fix!
1 ★ For about 2 weeks now I have not been able to use my camera at all. The basic Google camera, any other camera app, snap chat, IG, Facebook. It says that the camera is in use. I have contacted Google support. I turned my phone off and off cleared cache, foce stopped, installed then reinstalled and I even rebooted my phone and stared from scratch. Still nothing. Brand new phone. Bought it full price so can't send it in for a replacement. Very disappointed. Can't update it either.
1 ★ Everything was working fine until about a week ago when an update came along. I have not been able to use my camera at all ever since then, every time I open it up I am met with a blank black screen. As someone who bought this phone largely because of the camera it's incredibly frustrating to go and pull up your camera for work and be met with a black screen. I'm about to upgrade soon but will be steering clear of Google pixels from now on.
1 ★ Same as everyone else in the last 3-4 months. Google pixel 2 xl had no problems since I got it on launch. One day front facing camera goes to black and gets something went wrong about 65% of the time. The other 35% it will open and either be very blurry or when a picture is taken it freezes and crashes. Selfie camera works just fine, it is only front facing camera, any app that uses that camera does not work.
1 ★ My pixel 2xl was working so good till last week! Camera stops working all of a sudden. Tried a lot to fix it but I don't know why it doesn't fix at all. Android version 11 (updated in October 2020) Still hoping it works!! Very disappointing and heart breaking. No other apps that use camera open like Snapchat, Instagram etc. I've always loved my phone now it's just a disappointment! 💔😟
2 ★ I have had issues with my camera app loading for about a week. Works on and off. I got help, but nothing has worked from all of googles suggestions! Now I'm seeing I'm not the only one! My next step was a factory reset which i don't wanna have to do, and it sounds like wouldn't matter. I've only had phone for 3 years.
1 ★ Today, 6/15/2021 this camera app stopped working on my pixel 2. Had this phone for a few years now without any problem. Now all of sudden the app isn't working, just like the numerous other reviews left by people. I sure hope this isn't a sneaky trick into making people upgrade their phones. If it is, what a waste! Shame.
1 ★ 4/28/21 My camera no longer works randomly. Based on the other reviews it looks like since an update, it's not working anymore. Google support is telling me I need to pay $170 to get it fixed since none of the troubleshooting worked. Update 6/9/21: I got my camera replaced and even had my motherboard replaced when I was still experiencing issues with my phone. I am now having the same error as before. It says "something went wrong" and isn't recognizing my back camera. Not a hardware issue.
1 ★ Pixel 2: Upon launch the rear camera shows a black screen for a few seconds and then crashes. If I quickly switch cameras then the front camera works OK. Tried clearing cache, etc. but nothing solves the problem. There have been so many reports of this type that I'm very disappointed Google has nothing to say about it.
1 ★ From few days camera is not working. I have tried factory reset as well as suggested by support, still didn't work. This is very irresponsible behaviour from google. I see this affected lot of people worldwide still no help from google. Mostly happening after storage policy update, something's broken or google doing it on purpose. Wake up google.
