NETGEAR Orbi – WiFi System App 2.43.0.4421 APK requires following permissions:

Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows an app to access approximate location.

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows an app to use fingerprint hardware.

Allows applications to enter Wi-Fi Multicast mode.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

Allows an application to record audio.

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

1 ★ Trash. Installed and it takes you to the new user page. You click either login or create new user and it says no internet access (clearly I do I am writing this review, and yes I am connected to the wifi system through the Orbi Router.). So I Uninstaller reinstall. It takes me to the same page and says the same thing. I close it and reopen it a few times and finally it takes me to the login page for admin access. I left the password at default. Doesn't work. Absolute trash on Android. IOS 👍.

3 ★ When my Arris mesh died and I needed an immediate replacement, I was forced to go with Orbi. The setup was easy. The performance is so so. Where the Arris mesh regularly delivered 400ish Mbps to any smart host...and I have over 60 active smart devices going at any given time. The Orbi just doesn't reach that level. Mobile devices get around 180ish, which is still pretty damn good. As for stability, zero complaints. Orbi is stable. Zero unplanned reboots.

3 ★ Router appears to logjam after a few days. Best way to resolve this is rebooting Orbi. Unfortunately, Netgear does not provide a scheduled reboot option which would solve this issue entirely. Also, beware security and parental controls as they are simply another way to upsell you on another subscription. Mesh network does the job, but the issues mentioned above I think warrant serious thought about competing offers.

2 ★ The Orbi app needs some work. I have setup several Orbi mesh systems and this app is the cause of issues while setting Orbi routers. The app might not find your router or satellites but if you happen to access the web interface with a browser you will see that the router and satellites are found and working. This app missinformation may cause you to reset devices over and over and even return the devices.

2 ★ Difficult to use. Requires you to go through completely unnecessary waiting periods (searching for sattelites, etc...) while doing a standard setup - an absolute repetitive nightmare when troubleshooting problems. This app also routinely uses 15% of total system resources (on an S21 Ultra!) while running in the background.

2 ★ The app works but has some problems. DESTROYS your battery. 10% battery usage in only 15 minutes. Highly recommend restricting the app in your phone settings. UI is simple but hard to do anything advanced in. You're better off using the web UI. Can't find the orbi network half the time. Close and reopen the app.

1 ★ Still so unreliable. 😫 It just keeps getting worse...the app was better before despite dropping all of my speed test history with every update. Still really unhelpful when I'm trying to maintain a history of when my ISP is not performing according to their SLAs. Speed test data should be available from the beginning of time. It should never be purged unless the end user wants it to happen. 1 star review until this is changed AND the app returns to some actual sense of stability.

3 ★ I bought the Netgear orbit because it had rated high . So far the connection has been very reliable, the coverage good too. The app is easy to use BUT parental control is weird. Instead of being built in it's out source for an additional cost. I would simply would like to schedule internet access based on device. This feature is available on my previous wifi router but not on this new one. Secondly, the app often loses connection to the wifi while I am managing it.

1 ★ The app used to work fine but for some reason now everytime i log into the dashboard it immediately freezes and won't respond. I'm not sure if it was an update that caused this. The wifi is still working but I no longer have access to my orbi.

1 ★ Some of the tiles just don't work for me, including Security and Internet Speed. I spent hours chatting to Netgear support involving multiple network resets and firmware flashing, but nothing made any difference. Looks like the app and/or the orbi router software needs more work.

4 ★ Wi-Fi connectivity is excellent. Bitdefender protection also seems very comprehensive. However, I find the management of coverage on multiple devices to be cumbersome. Overall, a very good product.

1 ★ Took an hour. Why? Why does setting up these routers not just take 10m? If they need to update, so be it, but quit asking 400 times if I want to "Ok" the update. Seriously, just do it if you aren't giving me a choice to begin with. This app needs seriously revised intelligence. Just use the webui.

1 ★ Why do I now need a Netgear Web account????????????????????? Netgear Genie worked well and allowed me to manage my local router by logging in locally, which was all I ever wanted to do. Now I am forced to use this new app instead; it is slower and doesn't add any useful functionality yet it can't be used without generating a pointless Netgear account. Why? And now it's giving annoying notifications without an in-app setting to control them.

3 ★ I love orbi, but the app is consistently inconsistent. I installed these for others and this is my bullet proof wifi6 but I had to manually connect to app each time after reboot and firmware update. luckily I know how to or it would fail for many.

2 ★ I love the orbi itself, the speeds are amazing. This app on IOS is junk, most of the time you can't connect so if you have something that is blocked and want to turn back on you can't.
