mydlink 2.12.2 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.

Allows an application to record audio.

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.

Allows applications to enter Wi-Fi Multicast mode.

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.

1 ★ My cameras repeatedly get dropped throughout the day on my phone. Your Web site on my computer only allows about three-minutes of viewing then dumps my view. Why is there no IPView Windows 10 program for the new cameras as I use for my D-Link older cameras? Your current applications for smartphones and computers suck when it comes to monitoring my cameras. Update 2021-06-27 My D-Link cameras and software still suck. I'll be looking for replacements that allow installation and monitoring on a PC

1 ★ From 2 stars down to 1. After the update no recordings will play. I used to just download the video if it wouldn't load then watch the download but now you can't download it until it loads and plays anyways. So in short the camera is useless unless you watch it live. Months of videos just stuck in buffering never to be seen

3 ★ Geofencing doesn't seem to work - I have location enabled and I've set it up so geofencing should turn on my camera when I go out, but it rarely works. If I start the app myself the geofencing suddenly realises that I am not at home and I get a notification to say my camera has been turned on, but if I have to start the app myself, what's the point of geofencing? Also the website says that you can turn the camera off using Google home voice command (when I get home), but it doesn't work.

1 ★ Updated: you can now see multiple views on the app. Next things that need to be fixed are the fact that the feed will time out for some random reason. Also still no way to watch the cameras directly, it has to go to their server and then back to your mobile device. Previous: Purchased the two pack of these cameras, but the app only let's you watch one of them at a time on one screen even though there is plenty of room for both streams in portrait view which is pretty disappointing.

1 ★ Used to work but now my smartplugs can't be turned on or off. There is no on/off icon on the main page for each smartplug and when you navigate into each smartplug the on/off icons are disabled. When i unplug the smartplug the app shows it's offline and it shows online when i plug it back in. Not sure why it doesn't let me turn the plug on/off anymore.

3 ★ Seemed to work fine, easy to install but at 3am on the first night it began texting me telling me there was an error in the chip. Got about 8 text that kept waking me up. And the best part, the reason for the error was that just before 3am it texted me telling me there was some firmware update. I'm awake now so I guess I'll figure out whats wrong with the SD card

1 ★ I have had the 936L cameras for a while, they used to be one of the utter best cam/app monitoring things ever, it used to be stupidly fast. Click "live view" anywhere in the city and it was nearly instant...now? I'm lucky if I can connect to the camera within the first HOUR of trying, was given sound/motion notification, tried to connect, but thieves had the time to get a ladder, climb up, and steal my camera before it let me connect to see who was stealing my camera!!!

5 ★ This mydlink app is it for sure the camera is great the clarity is great the cloud recording is awesome the app even gives you free cloud recording u can pin up to 50 clips for fun, family, and the authorities I have mine set up to watch my BMW and u can turn on night vision and voice thru the app it's damn near perfect thank you and hats off to mydlink.

3 ★ Needs some work with notifications. I want notifications set when I'm away not when I'm asleep I also don't want to receive notifications each time i change scenes or set privacy either. There's no way to customise notifications it's very frustrating to constantly receive them when you don't need them. The only way to change this is to change the notifications manually every time you want to go in or out of your house. Defeats the purpose if I have to turn off notifications in my app settings.

2 ★ The latest update forces you to create an account. I don't care for the lack of web interface, but you could get to some settings from the app. At least the camera has ONVIF, however the image is terrible compared to the app, weird. I'm sure the D-Link camera/app/cloud combination is great for those with enough internet, money, and a disinterest in technology; but it does not work well for me.

2 ★ The app is totally unintuitive, and when registering a new device or trying to register a device to a new Wi-Fi, it does not show you that it's linked to the cloud. It just shows linking to cloud forever, and never stops. I re-downloaded the app, reinstalled the devices, all to no avail. It works, and when it works, it does what it's supposed to, but it's a very poorly coded app in my opinion. Shame on a company as big and as tech-oriented as these people, that they can't do this better.

2 ★ The app is ok, but from time to time i am unable to access the camera. I cannot do anything until i unplug it and plug it again. I want away for the weekend, camera got stuck, could not use it until i came back... and this is not a single event, happens frequently. Recordings are also not available during this period.

3 ★ I have several of these cameras & video in the morning is very overexposed in about 50 percent of the frame when facing outdoors through windows. The cameras are in shade & away from direct sunlight. Using the Dlink app there is no manual brightness control to allow you to correct this problem.

2 ★ This app needs plenty adjustments. The saved recordings was not keep a clear recording, instead it say video cut. This app goes offline into private mode a few times in one day. The worst is, the camera moves away from the target on its on into a zone where able to see is impossible. Other words it will run from the evidence trying to gain. I call this the stupid Camera.

1 ★ I set up D-Link cameras to catch a thief. I turned off privacy mode, verified that it was working. 3 hours later, the thief came by again, the cameras didn't capture anything, didn't notify me they were offline, nothing. These cameras and software should never be used for security, ever!
