Funimation for Android TV 3.14.3 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

2 ★ the good news is, the stream no longer pauses for 5 minutes in the middle of an episode....the bad news, it no longer launches from the main app widget on the TV =/ when it works, it works well enough. Still think I'd give it a 2* for design, meaning its about on par with HBO Max for design; but then again, if the main launcher were working, I'd be more likely to give it a 3.

2 ★ The only reason I'm giving this a 2 Star is because of its selection for anime, the UI, and how well it USE to work. If that wasn't the case then its an easy 1 star! I have been a premium member since March 2020. It has always worked great for me and it is on my Sony x930e. Until last month did it start messing up, I opened up the app all to see a big red banner saying my subscription has been suspended due to failed billing. So I ignored it because everything worked fine with no ads. After 3 days i decided to fix it what could go wrong?? Everything went wrong.. I changed cards just incase that was the issue and it said will take 24 hours to resume service. I waited 24 hours. Nothing. I waited 48 hours. Nothing. I decided to cancel the sub and re-sub with a new card hoping that would work. It did not so i waited a couple days and it still didn't work. So i waited till me renew date to give it another try which was the 13th of September. I couldn't believe it but everything worked great! Until last night when i got an error saying “this video cant play right now” or “this video is unavailable in your region” May i remind you i was already 4 seasons into a show before it said that so how is that possible??? I tried another anime. Same thing. I ended up starting 4 new shows last night because after 2 episodes it would say its region blocked. So i even tried my phone still didn't work, i tried my laptop still didn't work there either! I checked my bank account and i was charged 5.99 from funimation in the 15th so i had obviously paid for it 10 days ago why all of a sudden does it say it was failed? I sent funimation a detailed email saying all this exactly and havnt heard back from them yet. Also 20 minutes after i sent the email i started getting adds on all the episodes🤔 Funny isn't it? The problem here is that has happened 2 months in a row now so they are just milking me of my money and cutting me off. All in all i pay for it and i cant watch half the shows and get adds. If i ever get a reply i will post another review if its fixed or not. But i’m very doubtful they will reply. -Edit (Also my phone and laptop are apple)

2 ★ At first I did quite enjoy the app but it is starting to get very annoying. I'm using an Nvidia Shield TV. - 1. When you start it, you get an annoying splash screen. - 2. If you leave the app and return to it, _nothing_ works until you kill it in the system settings. ("request failed" style error) - 3. When you restart it you get an annoying splash screen again. - 4. Filtering shows is non existant. Can't even filter by "only movies". - 5. Moving between pages is painfully slow. - 6. The UX in general is cumbersome. And it does not seem accessible for vision impaired. - 7. Remembering latest episode is unreliable. - 8. Really easy to see accidental spoilers when looking for the latest episode.

2 ★ Well it works, but why on earth would anyone ever want to have awful black bars behind the subtitles to hide most of the video. Unlike the phone app, you can't change that either, you are stuck with them.Means that dubbed shows are the only options for viewing. This can't get more than 2 stars and that basically writes off most of the shows on the service.

1 ★ Sony owns Funimation yet the funimationNow android tv app broke the internal sound on my Sony Bravia x850g where I could not hear sound out of my TV nor would it export sound to my Sony receiver. The only way I could get sound to return was doing a factory reset on my TV. Uninstalling the app didn't help. How do I know the app was the culprit? I had to do a factory reset twice. When reinstalling the funimation app and playing a video the second time I lost my internal tv sound both through it's speaker and outputting to my receiver. I used the android tv app because at least it autoplayed episodes and kept my subtitle language settings unlike the mobile app. This is just a warning to others. Funimation doesn't read these reviews because if they did they would solve these problems.

1 ★ This app is awful, the UI is a convoluted mess and it crashes constantly. Some days it won't even log in. This app needs a complete overhaul, just like with what Crunchyroll recently did. I use it all the time on my Sheild TV and one day it just decided to stop working entirely. Not sure why, no warning, login and crash.

1 ★ Horrible experience! I had emailed customer support several times and i only got a response a week after!!! My billing is up to date but the ads are showing and it even reflected that my account is suspended! Some old episodes I cant even go back.. always :VIDEO NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS MOMENT"! Tried restarting my phone, and even my modem at home thinking it might probably a glitch in my internet connection... But no, the problem is with FUNIMATION app itself! i am one unhappy Customer right now and i have already cancelled my subscription...

1 ★ After the latest 3.1.0 app update, my Sony Bravia XBR-65X900F no longer can run the app properly. The app crashes when I try to sign into it. I can still stream cast items to the TV app using the Funimation phone app, but that takes out so many of the features while doing so. Please fix.

1 ★ Well, I installed this on my Nvidia Shield TV to try to watch Steins;Gate. It lets me find the show, select the episode... and then nothing. Whitish screen. No error message. Just sits. I go back and try to select another episode - same thing. Different show - same thing. It's just broken. 2019-09-07

1 ★ Trash app - good luck getting it to work for more than a month. Billing corrupts every time subscription renews. Funimation says it's Google, Google says it's funimation nobody will help you. If you want another month of service create a new email account and register - then wait for billing to corrupt - cancel the subscription - go through the complaint process for a refund - rinse + repeat. Pretty solid service...for 4 weeks at a time between weeks of being annoyed.

1 ★ The app did work for awhile on my Sony TV and then something happened. Now I try to log in and the app crashes and boots me out of the app. I can’t even log in on my TV. Waste of money.

1 ★ Can't control it with a USB keyboard. The arrow keys work, but Enter does nothing. There is no way to play a selected show or pause a show you're already watching. Control requirements don't get more basic than this. What the hell?

2 ★ Funimation as a service is pretty decent--both price and selection are good. Android TV app needs LOTS of work. Feels like the error trapping and UI error compensation is lacking, or mediocre at best.

1 ★ for some reason I keep getting adds even though I am a subscriber. Everything is up to date as far as payments on my google account and funimation. I contacted support and they are no help.

3 ★ The app skips episodes when watching in marathon mode. Can we get a fix for this?? It's very annoying getting confused because of this issue. It makes you wonder if you were not paying attention to the story.
