COUNTRY MUSIC HISTORY:
Country music has gone through a major transition from where it originated from to the modern sound of today. Country stemmed from the South in the 20s, and generally follows the same composition:

- Accompanied by fiddles, harmonicas, string and percussion instruments
- Consists of ballads and dance tunes
- Roots in folk music and blues

In the 50s, a subgenre of country referred to as Bluegrass came about, which carried a ìmountaineerî-styled sound and was popular amongst most classic country music lovers. As radio became a more popular form of entertainment, and workers brought their radios with them to the cotton mills, a new type of country began to form. It became known as Honky Tonk and was favored amongst poor whites in Texas and Oklahoma and was gaining ******** in the country scene over the years.

Because music is its own entity, and takes influence from other genres of music, it is known to evolve and change over time. With the significant impact of the British Invasion in the 60s, many fans wanted a return to the classical sounds of Rock ní Roll, and what resulted was a genre known as Country Rock.

In the 80s, another genre of country developed from the influence of the Punk movement known as Alternative Country. Alt Country prevailed for the rest of the decade, and in the 90s the rise of Contemporary Country took its place, which combined the typical country sound with Pop music vibes.
