Works without server software with PC and console,
no matter if controller or steering wheel.

Mobile phone on the steering wheel and read all relevant data coming from the game conveniently
(Activate the UDP telemetry transmission in the game's Settings menu and enter the IP address of the Android device)

Also works with F1 2018 (in UDP legacy mode)
