Congenital vertebral malformations represent an important health problem because they can be associated with spinal malformations, such as scoliosis and kyphosis. On the other hand, the presence of vertebral malformations is an important radiologic sign facing the clinical suspicion of a syndromic disorder, due to which, detection and description helps in the orientation of a specific disease. Early diagnosis of spinal deformities allows the promptly management and prevention of complications. Therefore, the knowledge of different types of vertebral malformations is useful for radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, neurologists, and physical therapists.
