What should I wear to salsa?

Light comfortable clothes are advised and a change of top may be advisable.

Salsa is normally danced in partnership and in close hold. Please note personal hygiene is paramount! Once you think you have enough deodorant on, add a little more as you will sweat.

Ladies should wear comfortable shoes that they will be able to learn to spin in, and avoid tight fitting skirts. Trainers are therefore not advised. Likewise, for the men, smooth soles are preferred.

Will I be fit enough?

Salsa can be done at any age as long as you can move to the music and take it at your own pace. Slowly build up your endurance week by week.

No. Salsa can be dance solo or with a partner however it is normally alot more fun with a partner. This is normal in most styles of dance for many reasons. For example, it provides a great ice-breaker and allows you to meet people you may wish to dance with at Latin parties, everyone needs to learn to 'lead' or 'follow' different individuals and this starts in the classroom and of course many people come alone.
