The 15th International Symposium on Viral Hepatitis and Liver Disease (ISVHLD) has a long tradition, moving every three years around the continents. From June 26th to 28th 2015, it will be held together with the 12th Annual Meeting of the German Liver Foundation (HepNet) and the 1st International Symposium of the Hepatitis Section of the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) in Berlin, Germany.
During this three-day meeting, basic scientists and clinicians will discuss the most recent advances to combat viral hepatitis, covering prevention, diagnosis and treatment, as well as its impact on the health care system. Today, therapies have become the focus of research and in 2015 many of the new direct antiviral agents (DAAs) against hepatitis C will be approved. Public Health becomes increasingly important. Identification of patients in need of therapy is a major challenge to make these new therapies accessible to all parts of the world.
