4 ★ Anime Studio Story is fun but it's just a complete retread of the same ideas Kairosoft nailed in Game Dev Story. It's a cute simulation with nice humour and lovely pixel art, but once you get out of the difficulty of the early stages all challenge is gone and it becomes super-repetitive. Not to be too hard on the game as I enjoyed it and played it pretty solidly for 5-6 days, but I found Game Dev Story more compelling and this game doesn't really introduce any new ideas.
2 ★ There is nothing to do. Just a numbers simulator. The first 15 minutes of the gM ame is the entire game. Nothing changes, and there is no incentive to progress.
4 ★ Nice game to pass some time. Good stylised graphics, nice mechanics and there's a bit of progression. There's something addicting about seeing the numbers of your anime improve as you spend more money on them. The hiring system is pretty neat. It's a bit shallow though. It doesn't take much time to reach the end of the game, and after that it becomes pretty boring because there's nothing else to work towards.
