Description

The game is a fun and innovative coding game to teach the basics of programming and algorithm. It teaches coding with fun games with the animals.

The players gain the basic concepts of coding, like command sequencing, functions and loops, by guiding the character by collecting golds and solving levels.

There are many characters (penguin, fox, cow, ladybug, angry bird, rabbit, chicken, etc.) in shop screen.

Algorithm City features 51 levels in 4 chapters.

Educational Chapter has 6 levels, it teaches how to do.
Easy Chapter has 15 levels, it teaches the basics of coding.
Normal Chapter has 15 levels, it teaches loops by using functions.
Hard Chapter has 15 levels, it teaches functions.

5 ★ Great game. Since it looks easy, it is suitable for 3+ years old kids for coding. Btw, keep it up.

1 ★ If your looking to learn code, this is not the game or app to use. The game doesn't even use much logic in order to get all 3 stars per level (you can really cheese the game with some very dumb inputs).

3 ★ It is a nice game, but out of a programming perspective, it teach to many incorrect principles. In many places you have to construct a function that would not work in normal programming, but because the game limit the movement of the character, the function work. This can create the perspective with a kid that you don't have to write correct functions, somehow magically it will function correctly. Also you call the function within it self. That is wrong on so many levels.

3 ★ Not a bad game, but a chunk of it cropped out of the screen and an equal amount of the screen is just white on the other side, then there's black on both sides. Just terrible usage of screen real estate.

4 ★ Very fun. Simple interface, great controls. Perfect game for teaching kids procedural programming. Slowly increasing difficulty makes for a smooth progression. Only downside is it's too short. Ninety minutes of fun and I'm done. Could use more levels. Also, a suggestion, add f{A}, f{B}, f{C}, etc for more complex programs. If we were able to build multiple functions, it would allow for longer, more complex levels

4 ★ Fun, but short. I was able to beat the game in a just over an hour, and there were 5 or 6 levels that I completed in under the minimum number of steps. I had hoped for a more difficult game, but I still had a good time.

5 ★ This is the best game I have played to teach the skill of coding. Limited instruction set, limited working memory, so one has to create efficient code. A great game when starting to learn about coding. Thumbs up all round. Since we are dealing with a graphical user interface there is no complex formatting or required punctuation. It even makes recursion easy to understand.

3 ★ Why pay 60 bucks for the pro version just to remove ads when you can do the same by just switching of your internet before opening this app. 😂

4 ★ Nice game. Fun & easy, but gets challenging (and interesting) too as level increases. One obvious mistake (as pointed out by another user as well) is teaching use of recursion without a counter. If that's ignored, then the app is really fabulous. If I may, I'd suggest to add volume control, as music is fun to have but is too loud. Another request would be (if possible) rotating the 3D plane to get better perspective of left and right, while programming the moves. :)

3 ★ I understand the game is probably aimed at kids but there is too little variance, the game is very repetitive and for me really easy. Also, at the first non-tutorial levels with functions, I don't think it works. There is only one slot for calling the function so you have to repeat the same code in the function, which defies the purpose of functions.

5 ★ Great little learning app. The 2D graphics could do with a little more polish, some look a little stretched and the turn instruction arrows imply forward motion ↱, rather than just rotation ↷. Also needs to stop screen from going to sleep during (and a short while after) algorithm execution. My kid is really enjoying it.

4 ★ Took me a couple of days over the Christmas break but managed to finish the game (well not all levels are 3 stars but I'm working on it). It's simple and well implemented, although now I want more, like more than one function, limit the loops, and ultimately use a real language syntax to actually help in the process to learn how to code.

4 ★ Entertaining, but if you are already familiar with some programing/robotics/logic you'll be able to beat the game in an hour or two (I was able to finish it in the time the dinner cooked). some levels can be solved with less instructions (5 that I know of) like level 7 hard can be solved with 10 instead of the 19). the developer could as another statisitc of "efficient vs fast" less instructions vs fast le le solving. if you have steam take a look at TIS-100 or Shenzen IO 🤭

4 ★ Nice coding game. My only issue is there are absolutely no instructions associated with the app. It should ay the very minimum give you some guidance as to what the objectives are. I started to finally understand 3 stars meant you completed each level perfectly, 2 stars was a good job and 1 star was just sufficient.

3 ★ Great looking game, but rendering is broken (Pixel 2XL | Android 10). The right side of my screen is cut off and I can't see the full code area.
