《呂氏春秋》，又稱《呂覽》，是在秦國丞相呂不韋主持下，集合門客們編撰的壹部黃老道家名著。成書於秦始皇統壹中國前夕。此書以儒家學說為主幹，以道家理論為基礎，以名家、法家、墨家、農家、兵家、陰陽家思想學說為素材，熔諸子百家學說於壹爐，閃爍著博大精深的智慧之光。呂不韋想以此作為大秦統後的意識形態。但後來執政的秦始皇卻選擇了法家思想，使包括道家在內的諸子百家全部受挫。《呂氏春秋》集先秦道家之大成，是戰國末期雜家的代表作,全書共分二十六卷，壹百六十篇，二十余萬字。
《呂氏春秋》作為十二紀、八覽、六論，註重博采眾家學說，以道家思想為主體兼采陰陽、儒墨、名法、兵農諸家學說而貫通完成的壹部著作。但主要的宗旨屬於道家。所以《漢書·藝文誌》等將其列入雜家。高誘說《呂氏春秋》“此書所尚，以道德為標的，以無為為綱紀” ，這說明最早的註釋者早已點明《呂氏春秋》以道家為主導思想之特征。
