Ganga Shravan Abhiyaan (GSA) APK

Mobile APP “Ganga Shravan Abhiyaan” is a combination of Mobile APP with Web Portal which provides an interface to citizens to provide their valuable suggestions and inputs in the form of Water Quality Monitoring with the help of Standard Water Quality Testing (WQT) Kit or without WQT Kit.
It empowers citizens to participate in the “Mission Clean Ganga” by monitoring River Ganga water quality in their nearby locality and thereby driving policy decisions indirectly.
The data submitted by citizens is collected through the APP. Data is displayed on the citizens dashboard and survey maps after scrutiny. Hence, results of monitoring done by a citizen are available to other citizens at a location.
Ganga Shravan Abhiyaan APP offers operating options with Smartphone having internet facility in offline or online mode. The APP can be operated with a simple SMS enabled phone.
Ganga Shravan Abhiyaan APP facilitates citizens, options for data submission by scientific monitoring through Water Quality Testing Kits (available with different organizations) or by simple visualization of water quality. CPCB is also facilitating these kits on request. The APP also facilitates citizen to report any unusual activity related to water pollution in their nearby areas visible through naked eyes.
The APP compares data with CPCB Prescribed General Standards for Water Quality and informs about quality of water at that site and its suitability for different purposes like drinking, bathing etc. This will bring in confidence in public about designated use of the water at certain river location.
It is expected that this system will become eyes and ears of CPCB for environmental policy decisions makings and it will also act as a complaint redressal portal connecting citizens directly.
Since, water quality remains dynamic in a river, It is expected that users will monitor a site at-least once in a month, so that designated best use pattern could be established.
Users will be honored through the competition on yearly basis on the basis of monitored data submission and the correctness of the data.
