3 ★ The Sports section tab is consistently waaaay slower or just crashes the app every time. This has been an issue for years and across multiple devices and updates. If you ignore sports, the app is fine, but there is just something about how The Bleacher Report loads that brings the entire app down. It always has, and likely always will.

3 ★ The only way to access any of the "Live Updates" pages via the app is to click on a story from the home tab, then click on the "# New Updates" button to see the latest updates. This only works if there are any stories on the home page feed that is one of the update stories. If there are none, there is no way to get to the "live updates" page. Lately I've just been using the regular CNN website to view new updates. It's annoying and defeats the purpose of having the app.

4 ★ CNN app is updated throughout the day with breaking news and is one of the primary ways I stay up to date on national (and global) news. I like that video clips (although some are too long to get to the point) are available to view and rarely glitchy. I don't like the ads, but since it's a free app, the ads are totally reasonable to have! (and the ads are short).

1 ★ The only problem I can report, but it IS an annoying one: After reading an article, when I tap the back button it takes a full six seconds to go back to the main page. As opposed to the WaPo or NYT apps, which are instantaneous. Update 11-12-21 The latest problem with horrible app is that after reading an article, hitting the "back" button now brings the reader to the TOP of the news feed and NOT to that article's location within the news feed. Just horrible.

1 ★ Big mistake to take away the photos heading each story on the scroll. But the biggest mistake is that after reading each story, I'm bumped back to the top story, so I have to scroll down to find where I left off. Very frustrating! I have been a longtime CNN reader, but am currently reading on NPR News, which I recommend as much better- there is better editing of writing, thumbnail photos with headlines, and you retain your place in the scroll of stories. I'm deleting CNN until they fix bugs

2 ★ I love CNN as a news channel and see them as a reliable source, but the app has so many bugs I can't even read anything! Every time I want to open a breaking news notification "Error, please try again!" Then I have to search the whole app just to find the article, but even when I do that it automatically freezes and closes on me. Putting me back at square one. I'm just an individual that wants to stay informed and educated, but the bugs within this app are not allowing me. I'll be sticking to my usual go-to New York Times for now, until CNN decides they want to have an app that actually works.

1 ★ Don't get me wrong I love CNN, but this is one of the jankiest apps I've ever dealt with. I run into issues with it constantly. When I am casting the app to my tv it will work for about 30-45 minutes then it says "this content is blacked out". When this happens I can't just stop casting, I have to go to my settings and force stop the app. Then my chromecast still thinks it's connected so I have to reboot my tv. I run into issues while trying to watch on my phone also. Endless ad loops. ANNOYING!

2 ★ Giving 2 stars because it does indeed let you watch news on the go, but honestly it sucks. There are SO many glitchy things it does wrong. To begin with you can't cast it, It just shows the CNN logo on your TV. The commercial breaks are so weird and glitchy and don't seem to match up with the show. Like the commercial break will end and they're halfway through a story. Plus if you dare touch the screen it will go to the page of the advertiser and then when you try to go back to the app, it will start the break over. Also, it asks me to log into my Dish account all the time. At least once a week. I get doing that every now and then I guess, but it should remember me for a while at least. Lastly, sometimes the app doesn't work at all, like it just doesn't do anything when I try to watch live or even a story. Still love CNN and HLN, but please work on this. It's been this was since it's beginning, really annoying.

1 ★ This used to be a good, data-friendly alternative to the auto-play video hell of the CNN website. Used to be. I deleted it right after an HD video ad played in an article. Not in a video, IN AN ARTICLE. It was impossible to stop, and apparently continued to play even when it wasn't on screen. The result? That one video ad used ONE THIRD of my data for the month. DO NOT USE THIS APP IF YOU HAVE DATA LIMITS!

2 ★ This newest version of the app has two problems: 1) On video news, the sound volume on ads is normal, but it immediately falls off dramatically when the news story starts, and volume is set to maximum on the device. (using Kindle Fire HD). Never had this problem before and there are no other ways to adjust the volume. Have deleted and reinstalled the app twice. 2) The headline for each news item is too long at times and gets cut off, so you really don't know what the article is about unless you open it. Because of the sound problem, I am switching to other news apps. Sorry CNN!

2 ★ I have been using this app for years and have never had any major issues until now. When I open the CNN app it errors and says "unable to load- tap to try again". It's as if I don't have wifi but I do. Wifi is not the issue. I do see that others are having this same issue. I have updated the app, uninstalled and troubleshot what I could. Not sure what the issue is but I hope CNN fixes this issue ASAP. Prior to this, I would rate with 4 stars.

2 ★ I know CNN needs ads to generate revenue, but can't they load them in advance? Instead, everything is suddenly shifted down half the length of my screen after I've just started to read a headline or look at a picture. If you scroll from top to bottom, it happens 22 times! I'll be switching to NBC News until they fix this. UPDATE -- Shifting problem is gone, but I've grown accustomed to the NBC News app. They only show ads when you click to read a story, which is a vast improvement.

2 ★ I am only giving it 2 starts not because of the content but because the app really stinks. It gets worse with every update. Every single time I click on a video for the first time the app crashes. Once I reopen the app I can click on that video and watch it but if I pick a different video it crashes again. Watching live streaming crashes the app every time. It's a lot less frustrating to just use the CNN website.

1 ★ This may be one of the worst apps I have ever experienced. I'm not making any judgment whatsoever on the content of CNN's news or programming. That is an entirely different discussion. However, the live TV portion of the app is so buggy, so inconsistent, full of many errors and quirks that it makes using it a real headache. Furthermore, the lack of variety in video advertisements is downright tortuous.

1 ★ This app is very glitchy; it doesn't allow me to read articles or watch videos when I attempt to click on them from the home page. It doesn't send me to the article page; it instead loads as a layer behind the home page, its really bizarre. I've made complaints to the developer, but it's been going on for MONTHS, and nothing has changed. Please provide an app update or something. The app is great aside from this.
