Description

Opensignal is a free to use, advert free mobile connectivity and network signal speed test app.

Speed test for mobile and Wifi internet
Opensignal speed tests measure your mobile connectivity and signal strength. Opensignal runs a 5 second download test, 5 second upload test and a ping test to provide a consistently accurate measurement of the internet speed you will likely experience. The speed test runs on common internet CDN servers. The internet speed result is calculated with the middle range of samples.

Video playback test
Slow video load time? Video buffering? More time waiting than watching? Opensignal’s video test plays a 15 sec video snippet to test and log load time, buffering, and playback speed issues in real-time to show you exactly what to expect with HD and SD videos on your network.

Connectivity and speed test coverage map
Always know where to find the best coverage and fastest speeds with Opensignal’s network coverage map. The map shows signal strength down to street level using speed test and signal data from local users. With network stats on local network operators, you can check coverage ahead of a trip, check the internet and download strength in remote areas, compare your network to other providers in the area, arrange the best local SIM.

Cell tower compass
The cell tower compass allows you to see which direction the closest or strongest signal is coming from, enabling you to more accurately use broadband and signal boosting technology.
Note: The cell tower compass uses aggregate data and accuracy issues can occur in certain areas. We’re striving to improve this feature and thank you for your patience.

Connection availability stats
Opensignal records the time you’ve spent on 3G, 4G, 5G, WiFi or had no signal at all. This allows you to see where you are getting the service you’re paying for from your network provider. If not, use this data and the individual speed tests to highlight connectivity and signal issues to your mobile network operator.

About Opensignal

5 ★ This is a great tool for anyone who travels, for aiming cell boosters, or just plain finding cell coverage. Keep up the good work and thank you for making a useful and intuitive application.

1 ★ Points in the wrong direction?? I know, where the towers are, it knows where the towers are, but the signal direction is complete wrong. Confirmed compass calibration on phone correct but app signal pointer is completely wrong. Usless

1 ★ Arrow pointed to a tower that wasn't there . On the map it showed the tower was 38 degrees in another direction so I drove there, no tower there either. This app was useless for me.

5 ★ It's good to have an apps to monitor our telco's Internet service and use it to claim for non service. ISP must ensure customers get what they paid for. If free 1 G data is snail slow it is useless for online classes.

1 ★ In the apps, that showing the telco has 4g coverage. But in the reality there is no 4g coverage and there is only 3g coverage! The telco speedtest wrote 20mbps, but again it was actually only 0.7mbps!! 🥲 #poorapps☹️ #notrecommend👎🏻 Please ✨fix✨ this bugs on your apps 😌👌🏻

4 ★ Would love to see the addition of ipv6 test to let you know what your network is providing you with. Great app so far. Love the new addition of 5G.

5 ★ I found this app very useful and helpful in following ways: 1. Very easy to access, light weight which anyone can use it without huddle. 2. If you want to know which network is good, irrespective of the current location you are at, this app can help you to choose. 3. It also shows, which network/tower you are connected now and you can track it for the actual location too. 4. This app provides you the real time speed of network: download and upload. And many more awesome features... TY.

5 ★ Relatively easy to use but it would be nice if they had a glossary offers or abbreviations, but outside of that, tip top.

5 ★ Omg this is so cool. This is suitable for those who wants to buy a new house and use this to check the network strongness etc. Nice app.

5 ★ Could be better just have to figure out the signal and the code and how to pick up the Wi-Fi and it would be a good app have a good night bye

3 ★ Doesn't list Virtual Operator data (MVNO) separately from Host Operator data. Surely the big four prioritize their own data on their own towers over that of the discount networks who lease bandwidth. To average those speeds together would be baffling. To assume that you're going to reliably see big network speeds while paying discount network prices is laughable, especially on busy towers during peak hours. Happy to hear they are working on the tower map accuracy issue.

3 ★ Great app. It will be more better if you add Fiber optic laid map as well.

1 ★ Worst app! it shows fake data. Positions of towers and downloading and uploading speed shows very high than actual.

5 ★ This is one of the best apps I ever used especially if you want to know the downloading speed ,uploading and latency of the internet service provider being used ...and it helps also to redirect your home connectivity to a certain cell tower so that you can experience a better connectivity. This is very easy to use and also good job to the developers...thus by far this is the greatness of minds put together to achieve superb results....This is worth having ...

1 ★ I don't understand what this app is for! The name "Open Signal" I thought was to crowd source and make mast locations more accurate. But after months of submitting data the mast locatiions are still miles away and in the wrong direction from the location I know they are located. Seems a total waste of time and should be renamed Closed Signal, because there is nothing "open" about this app or project!
