1 ★ I never do reviews, but I had to say something. I have been using the Mood app for years and have always really liked it with all of the customization you can do. I absolutely despise this new update that just came out! The appearance is terrible. I really do not like how it separates your list of texts by date and the fact that everything is in boxes. Ugly and annoying.
3 ★ 12/8/2023: I had to lower my review because if the most recent update. They really needed to test the UI/UX more. The chat list has basically had basically 30% of the screen taken up by empty space because of the date grouping that I can't imagine anyone asked for. The contact avatar color is now just an outline, and the UI buttons are much larger and get in the way. If you don't revert, please at least give an option to enable the legacy UI
3 ★ I've been using Mood and really enjoying it. It was 5 star. As of November 12, 2023 it has a different design & doesn't show my colors on the contacts, bubbles, text etc. Very disappointed. Already emailed for support. Was seriously thinking of buying premium but thought I'd see if it worked long enough without issues. Now after a few months it's messed up.
2 ★ I love this app, and have used it for a few years across a couple of phones. Until the update I got yesterday, I would have rated it five stars. I hate, hate, HATE the new chat list layout. Enough that I'm looking for a new SMS app to replace Mood. Speaking as a software developer, it's been my experience that changing the basic look of an app all at once with no legacy or revert option is a great way to drive a lot of users away.
3 ★ New App Change in Design: when looking through general directory of who my texts are to and the beginning of the last text, all the letters are intentionally blurry! It is not until you go into the texts they are crystal clear! Trying to go through texts now is messing with the eyes eyes by having it fuzzy/hazy. What gives? Why do this? Why would anyone think this is a good thing?
1 ★ WHERE IS THE PROMISED UPDATE??? I loved this app until the recent update. It looks hideous with the new design in the chat list. I was able to fix the bubbles in the chats at least. I might switch to another app since the reason I chose mood was to have a customizable background but now we can't even see that because of the way the chat list is. I am so glad I had not gone ahead and paid for the premium version yet like I planned to. Give us the option to use the previous design.
4 ★ I LOVE this app, purchased, and have used it for years. Until this last update today 12/6/23, I have enjoyed the layout. I purchased this app because I loved how it looked and for how customizable it is. Please do away with the grouping by date in the chat list, or give an option to include/exclude that. It takes up room and isn't an important feature. Been browsing other apps to try out.
2 ★ I agree with everyone about the new update. I have been using this app for years and could not believe how awful it looked after that update. I immediately looked for a new app after trying and failing to find a way to change it. Some other apps i found had some really nice customization, but still fell short of this app over all. Please get rid of those horrific boxes and listed by date.
1 ★ DO NOT DOWNLOAD. I used 2 use this messaging app exclusively when they first came out. they were great! however I deleted them after having issues with texts not coming through & no help from their support. flash forward 5 years, I wanted to give them a go again. 3 days in people complaining they call me & calls aren't going through. this app added a new call feature that I believe is messing up my phone. after talking to Verizon they said the issue is not with them & to Uninstall. no more issue
2 ★ I was enjoying Mood until the latest update. Aside from the current forced and questionable UI formatting issues, Mood no longer honors Do Not Disturb settings properly. I've been having calls ring through DnD, blasting the alert tone through Bluetooth speakers, until I removed Mood. Now the system level DND settings are honored, and my phone and I are back at peace with each other.
1 ★ Irritating updates!! Used to love this because I could choose my theme & layout, but since all the ads & updates constantly reconfiguring *overriding* my settings, ( chat list has black or white lines and folders all over it, obsuring my background & opaque settings) this app is annoying as hell with the gd ads, and you know it! No way this is premium level fee worthy of Monthly, Annual, Lifetime levels of subscription! STOP RUINING A GOOD THING! JUST GO BACK TO SIMPLE!
1 ★ What on earth could you possibly be thinking changing the way the messages show!? This app has gone from bad to worse and now you want to change the configuration. Please change the format back so that I can select my messages before. Not a fan of seeing messages in the date format! Ugh...So annoyed!
2 ★ Overall a really good app with lots of customization, but I do have one complaint: messages from blocked numbers aren't deleted, only hidden. Edit: apparently backing up your settings does not include your blacklist, -1☆ for not including that in the backup. Also I keep getting an error that "other SMS apps" are preventing MMS downloads but Mood is the only one installed/enabled, which didn't happen on my old phone.
2 ★ Links are no longer being sent to my phone, I confirmed this by having my family send me a link and it doesn't even show up on the message. Messages come late, only when I open the app I get a huge amount of messages coming in all at once. Youtube thumbnails no longer work nor does it allow me to continue onto the youtube link. This is highly frustrating because I really used to like this app, I've been using it for years but it becoming useless as far as even receiving basic messages. H e l p !
2 ★ Mood is highly configurable with lots of nice features, although it can be difficult to find the configuration items for certain features. One of the infuriating things about Mood is that it blocks screen shots! To take a screen shot of a text message, I have to switch from Mood to a different messaging app (I use Android's default messaging app) just to get a screen shot, and then switch back to Mood. I've asked the developer how to permit screen shots in the app, but have received no response.
