Features include:
- Choose from a range of instrument tunings ( guitar tuner, violin tuner, ukulele tuner and many more ) or upgrade to pro to create your own.
- Vary the reference tuning pitch away from the common 440Hz.
- Transposition for non-concert pitch instruments, for example the B-flat trumpet.
- Choice of light or dark themes.
- Adjust the volume sensitivity of the app for quieter instruments and noisy environments.
- Use the pitch pipe to sound a reference note and tune by ear.
Hands free tuning means you can tune all of your strings without ever having to touch the screen - you don't want to have to reach for your ukulele tuner in between tuning each string, and now you don't have to.
This tuner app has two modes:
- Instrument tuner
- Chromatic tuner
The instrument tuner shows you the target notes for the instrument and tuning that you have selected. For example a guitar tuner would show the notes EADGBE if you chose standard guitar tuning, or DADGBE if you chose drop D tuning. Or a violin tuner would show GDAE. You can then just play each string and the tuner will identify whether you are in tune. Pitched Tuner has built in tunings for many common instruments including banjo, bass 4, 5 and 6 string, cello, double bass, guitar including 7 string, ukulele, viola and violin. You can also easily create your own in the app.
The chromatic tuner displays the note that is closest to what is currently being played. This is useful for instruments with lots of notes ( piano tuning for example ) or with several common tunings such as the guitar.
Pitched Tuner displays a traditional tuner needle and dial. It clearly shows the frequency being played as well as the nearest note and error in cents. The dial then allows you to easily track small changes in pitch.
This instrument tuning app also works as a pitch pipe and can sound a reference note to tune your instrument by ear, or use as a target note when you are re-stringing your guitar or violin.

5 ★ This is a great app. It's super accurate and I have never experienced a single glitch or bug. I use it to tune both acoustic and electric guitars and also mandolins. It can also be used unconventionally to detect notes in skngs or lead lines and solos to reverse engineer into chords. I've used numerous tuning apps, but over the years I've stuck with this one. 5 stars all around!
5 ★ I like the Pitched Tuner app because it gives two tuning methods, using the meter, or sounding the actual note. I prefer to tune by using the actual sound, using the meter to verify if necessary. The reason why is because any background noise at all can cause the meter to give a false reading, making tuning by ear preferable. Pitched Tuner gives both options. My only concern for the app is that there's the offer to buy the ad-free pro version, but no mention of price. I don't like to press the purchase link without knowing the price beforehand. I finally relented and clicked the link to purchase the Pro version that has no ads. The price of the app is $3.99 USD. In my opinion the pro version should be available separately on Google Play Store and the price displayed. I tend to not trust companies and individual developers who cannot display the price and be open, up-front, and honest about their products. If the price is reasonable, I see no reason to hide it. In this case there is nothing to hide. It's a good app that is straight-forward, easy to use, and worth the price of the Pro version. I see no reason for the cloak-and-dagger where the price is concerned. Of course, the price displayed depends on the nation where the customer lives and the currency used. On the other hand, other apps on Google Play Store show their price, and I'm sure that Google Play Store adjusts the price listed depending on the location and payment method given by the customer. Even using the free version, the ads are not intrusive and do not interrupt or interfere with the use of the app. I definitely recommend Pitched Tuner as an instrument tuning app. Having two methods of tuning in the same app is definitely a plus in my book. Not being restricted to guitar tuning is another plus.
4 ★ A good app for what it does, but could be a real standout with one simple tweak. What this app does: One view allows you to play a selected note. The other view is a frequency needle, useful for tuning instruments or checking my singing pitch for a particular note. But the needle display could easily be much better. As it is, the needle's display range is narrow, so it jumps around too much to follow a whole song. It would be better as an octave wheel capable of following notes of a whole song.
3 ★ I enjoy this app, but there's one issue that needs attention. The pitch graph section doesn't smoothly transition between connected notes as I play my instrument or sing. It jumps abruptly to the next note it mainly detects I'm playing. Improving the graph's ability to detect and register these changes more seamlessly would greatly improve the benefits, and would be appreciated. I would suggest a graph that has the letter notes already preposition on the graph with the line changing between them
5 ★ It is hard to find a good tuner app with a drone feature. Pitched Tuner has an easy interface with a few different drone options including sine wave, clarinet, keyboard, and guitar tones. The drone feature also has a range of 4 octaves. My only complaint is the drone rearticulates at regular intervals, which occasionally disturbes or distracts me from my practice excersices.
5 ★ First off, i live in New England and the humidity levels are in constant flux. This can cause a plethora of tunning issues. However, I use this app to tune a set of 5 Toca custom delux Tumbadoras(congas)to specific pitches/intervals. The tunner does a great job of not picking up on the many unpredictable overtones that a natural skin head and oak drum produce. This was not the case with other pay to use tunning apps. Easy to use, effevtive, and all for no initial charge....A++ !!!
5 ★ couldn't give this app a higher rating because it does all that you need. and it gives you a variety of ways to do it depending on who you are. I was always by ear myself and when I have this sounding the notes to me, I remember that I always wished I had something like this back in the day when I tune along with my cassette tapes. Megadeth Metallica was always good for an open E at the beginning of a song that rings out for a while but I still had to stop and push rewind and start it over.
4 ★ Excellent so far. Well designed and easy to use. I only rated it 4 stars because the options on the pull-down menu on the left (metronome, etc) are not integrated with the app even after I downloaded and installed them. It keeps sending me to a download link on the Play Store, and I have to open them as individual apps. Am I missing something? Or can this be added to a future release?
4 ★ So because if coronavirus I decided to try to find something to teach myself while I'm stuck at home and I decided to try learning guitar. I found a video on what the strings open note is and I knew I need a tuner and I tried a few but this one is the one I chose because it gets the job done and its gets the job done well and I've gotten so much better (even if that started from nothing) and I'm noticing a lot of progress and this has helped me with that.
4 ★ I am using this app to help tune my voice. It works really well, except there are a few notes that when either tuning my voice or matching pitch with a piano, this app cant distinguish what octave the pitch is, even when the tones are played back to back to back. But that's just a minor hiccup!
5 ★ Seriously, the coolest app. I use it all the time just for fun. but it is far better as my tuner for the guitar than any guitar app out there. you can use it to tune or find the frequency of anything.
1 ★ I'm not a musician, so I'd like to see at least a few basic instructions. I must have selected something unintended, because the needle doesn't change, no matter what note it picks up. All 8 keys on my kalimba ARE NOT D!
5 ★ for a mobile tuner I must say that it's pretty good. Straight forward controls and interface I mean it provides facility to access all notes and so I can practice vocal and tune my guitar too and providing so much in free ver makes this app eligible for 5 ⭐ rating... hope it helped someone ^_^
5 ★ Excellent. Just what i needed. Maybe not for everyone but i love it. Fast response, accurate, indication in Hz, simple interface, unobtrusive ads. Alternate scales. All fine, thanks. Finally i found a decent tuner.
5 ★ very responsive and clear to read at distance. the tone is a repeated sound if you choose to listen to a tuning note. very nice. there are two graphical options.
