Description
Lithium-ion based batteries age faster at charging levels below 30% and above 80%. Ideally, staying within these limits and avoiding complete charging/discharging cycles should be completely automatic (some electric car power systems do). Unfortunately, most smartphones do not have (yet) the ability to stop charging without being unplugged*.
Note: Because of this, this app does not automatically extend the life of your battery. It merely assists you so that you can interrupt the charging process at an optimal level.
* (Some devices indeed have this capability, but this requires the device to be rooted. If you are interested in this feature, contact me (fruit4droid+ble@gmail.com) and specify your phone model to see if it is elegible. If there is enough interest, I will include this function in the Pro-Features package.)
This app gives you an audible and visible notification (including colored blinking LED when supported by device) when the battery reaches a user-defined LOW and/or HIGH level so that you can plug/unplug the device if convenient. The default range of 25% to 85% is a good compromise between battery care and usability in most cases. As long as you don't dismiss the alert, the sound will repeat every 5 minutes when charging (high level) and every 15 minutes when discharging (low level). About once every other month, we recommend to fully charge and discharge the battery so the internal power gauge can calibrate itself.
You may set a silent period (from-to times) in which the sound will be disabled. The notification symbol and LED will still be shown when a limit is reached.
Battery Monitor shortcut: At the top right corner, the app shows a battery symbol with the current charge level. Pressing it calls the system's own battery usage monitor.
If the levels LOW and/or HIGH are enabled, after reboot, the app will reactivate itself automatically.
This app has been carefully designed to use very little resources.

On Android 7 and newer, please turn off the battery optimization for this app (App info > Advanced > Battery optimization). Otherwise the app will not work reliably.
As of version 3.1.0, we introduced In-App-Purchase. All functionality stays the same for the free version. But if you want to enjoy some extra features, just enable the Pro-Features option in main menu. You will get these new features:
• Logging of plug and unplug times
• Notification tones can repeat 1, 2, and 3 times
• Battery temperature indication (in Celsius or Fahrenheit)
The log of the plug and unplug times will log every charging cycle including time and battery level as well as the duration of each cycle. This will help you better assess how long the charging process takes and how long you are running on battery. There is no limit on the number cycles recorded, and you can delete them individually or as a whole.
Short charging periods or charging interruptions below 5 minutes will be ignored in the log.

Battery Life Extender 3.5.4 APK requires following permissions:
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows access to the vibrator.
Permission an application must hold in order to use ACTION_REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows applications to open network sockets.

5 ★ The interface is pretty nice but there is one problem. Looks like this programme uses it's own percentage meter, different from phone's. Like this: 43% in this app ~= 45% on phone display. So the notification comes a little late. Or am I wrong? Galaxy A31.

Salutation still applicable: Though the percentage figure on top left corner of screen is NOT necessary, but unable to be closed either by user. Unnecessary because Smartphones already provide that either by default or modification in the setting. At least, please provide function to turn that figure off. Thanks and keep up the great work! 👍
5 ★ I gave it five stars because I totally agree with the science of keeping your battery within a certain threshold as to not stress the cells. This will undoubtedly prolong the number of charge and discharge cycles. Also it seems to be designed to run on minimal resources in the background. It's got a lot under the hood I can say that much. Great job guys. And now If only my e-bike would do this. I have to do it manually on that unfortunately.
5 ★ I've been using this app for 2 years What I like is its simple to use design which gives me just what I need: to set a max min charge level [20%-80%] and to be notified when this level has been reached.
2 ★ At top battery level the app just beeps once every 5 minutes , it is very easy to dismiss this beep, even at full volume !! Please make it beep continuosly at a real audible volume or let the user configure the app this way. Add a ringtone like an alarm.
5 ★ Excellent app. I want an app to automatically cutting the charging power, but I know that this is effective only on root. So , I use this app which is sending a tone message in upper and lower battery levels. Note9
5 ★ I like it very much. I had wondered if something as good as this really existed, but I found it on my first try when I searched the apps in my playstore. It does exactly what I want and I can vary my preferences.
2 ★ I installed it and it worked for a while, but then it stopped working. I played with the alarm settings but it never worked after that. Uninstalled it. 8/20 update: Thanks. Will do.
3 ★ I prefer to give more stars if the app can remove notification out of the notification bar once I have acknowledged or dismissed.
