Ratings and Reviews

4 ★ Unfortunately for a paid music subscription, the experience is very okay... pretty much every few months, I have to reinstall it onto my phone bc it crashes or doesn't play once connected to my Bluetooth (which is frustrating since I run almost everyday). The car mode is annoying, but I'm glad I can turn it off. The overall amount of content is good, however the selected playlists are very okay. I'm glad I can generate my own playlists even if I'm worried they'll cause the app to crash

3 ★ Great when it works. We use this on our phones, Alexas, and iPad/iPod. It will randomly crash for no reason at all. The app will close on phones, iPad and iPod and Alexa will just stop playing. It never happens on other music/podcast apps. I hate to leave it because we have all of our playlists, but I am getting sick of paying for a service that doesn't work 75%of the time.

1 ★ The worst. Wouldn't use it at all if not for the fact the I pay for amazing music and have the speakers at the house. Resets all the time, doesn't play song in order even without the random shuffle select. Not intuitive at all to try to make playlists or add songs to existing playlists. I wouldn't have even bothered rating, but the app asked. Oh and every time you start the damn thing you get blasted by an ad asking you to make a family plan. I don't have a family!!

2 ★ This used to be a really solid app. Within the last year, the apps performance has become unreliable. Every update it seems to get worse. The app struggles to start songs when first opened. If listening to a station the back button doesn't work, and I've also had issues with the app freezing. The only remedy is to uninstall and reinstall the app, and that only works until the next update. For reference I have Amazon unlimited. I do like the apps selection of artist.

2 ★ Getting worse, not better! In my library when I click artists it shows most recent. When I switch to A-Z, it immediately reverts back to Most Recent. Also, when I scroll through my arits to find a band, when I hit the back button it goes to the top of the list, so I have to scroll all the way through to get to my next band. I have to click way too many things to see my library. Ugh! Tempted to switch platforms!

2 ★ It doesn't remember preferences. This app no longer remembers my settings. I have to go in every time I change playlists and turn on the loop option so the playlist won't stop on the last song. This wasn't a problem before they started "upgrading" it. It's seriously annoying to have it not remember ANY preferences. I also hate having to turn off the lyrics or the x-ray. They've made this app so annoying.

1 ★ Trying to use this app in the car is awful; not user friendly and the voice activation rarely works so it's not hands free. Drives me nuts. Edit a year later: It constantly stops playing and I have to go back and hit play, from the beginning. It even does this with downloaded music, so it's not lack of service. I've pretty much given up. Why is it so bad???

2 ★ If you have Prime and want to use this for free do it. If you're planning on paying $10 a month for this, DON'T. Go pay for Spotify it is MUCH better. Amazon Music has a few flaws. 1 some random songs will all of the sudden ALWAYS be super quiet compared to the rest of your music. They have a setting to fix this but it doesn't work. Every time I'm on the app now it CONTINUOUSLY pops up a message saying "download started." Annoying. Also music on Echo devices cuts out all the time. Spotify wins

1 ★ Pauses at random, a lot. When I launch it in my car, none of my podcast pop up. So I have to go onto my phone to start playing my podcast (which is the only reason I use Amazon Music). I turned off car mode because it is extremely unusable. However, the app on Android Auto is still absolutely the worst of the worst. It's supposed to make it safer to drive; quickly navigate to a selection and listen. This app does NOT provide that. Please make it better.

1 ★ This app is wholly and completely useless. Absolutely. Useless. Garbage. You can't do anything with it at all. It barely allows you to choose a song already in your own library. Search doesnt work, you can't control music on any other device from the app. Recommendations are laughably bad - stuff I'd never listen to in a million years. Like every one of Amazon's apps and Amazon itself, the Amazon Music app is total trash. Must be nice to get paid for being utterly incompetent at what you do.

1 ★ I use to use this app all the time while in my car. I have the unlimited sub. Maybe once in a while a slow loading screen, but once we got the music playing, no problem. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. Now it just randomly stops playing and the screen is black. So I have to force quit and restart the app, find the song and it starts over....and cuts out mid song again. My kiddos been so upset about that and of course when I'm driving I can't constantly be playing with the phone. Horrible.

3 ★ I really enjoy the music but it doesn't stay focused on my genre i love, and it's always a catch when you trying to upgrade. It should be a little easier or maybe have something that you could do other than watching ads or having to pay so much just to listen to something that should inspire uplift an guide us forward. Instead of being frustrated with music that doesn't go with your mood

1 ★ Love it! I use it all the time in my truck! As of an update three weeks ago (beginning of December 2023), the app is horrible whether it's played on my phone or through Android Auto. It will play one song, then the screen turns black, the whole app freezes and I have to reboot the app. I'm upset that my favorite part of my prime membership is now worthless.

2 ★ On my iPhone, the app worked great. Since I switched to a Google phone, I've lost the ability to scroll alphabetically. So if I want to select a song title that starts with W, I have to scroll all the way through my playlist rather than simply selecting W, because there are no letters next to the list of my songs. Also, whenever I set my songs to shuffle, if I then select a specific song rather than simply letting the next song come on, the shuffle setting turns off automatically.

1 ★ This app is barely functional. I tapped the shuffle function once and now it is permanently on. I've tried everything I can think of to turn it off and it simply doesn't work. Worse is that if a song has been played during the shuffle function and you click on it again, Amazon Music simply starts playing the current song again. The only case where I would recommend this app is if you already have an Amazon Prime account AND cannot stand ads. YouTube does everything Amazon Music does and better.
