BBC: World News & Stories 8.0.7.2 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows access to the vibrator.

5 ★ Great news app. I never have a problem getting the updates when I'm not on wifi. Sometimes I can't get anything on the CNN app, but BBC never fails. They cover current events from the UK perspective, of course, but they have a global focus on science & technology,p music and the arts, and interesting features. There are also specialty features, both in print and video, which focus on non-subjects

3 ★ Although it's been my trusted news source for many years, the quality of journalism and the political swing of topics has made the BBC a shadow of its former self. Add a raft of ever repeating adverts (something that shouldn't exist under a licence fee) makes the app weaker and weaker

4 ★ The BBC is a trusted news source for me. However, quite often, articles seem to finish quite abruptly without completing the point that's trying to be made. The editors need to do a better job. Also, there is an irritating technical issue. When the screen rotates from portrait to landscape and then is straightened again, the app goes back to the top of the page and you need to scroll down to where you were up to. This doesn't happen in some other news apps.

2 ★ At least when trying to use in the US, the ads are too intrusive and often inappropriate. Video stories require you to watch ads but often don't play when the ad finishes. Refreshing the screen makes you watch another ad, which is frustrating.

4 ★ Love the BBC, but the app still has problems that can make it frustrating to use. Sometimes links to a story lead to another category and not to the story itself, which you have to search for again and again. Getting to the story often takes several attempts, hence the frustration. The videos usually take a long time to load and sometimes don't even play. All that said, I do still use the app because I like the content. I just wish it weren't so clunky. All that should have been fixed by now.

4 ★ My trusted news source for years. I love the layout and accessibility. But I can only give 4/5 for some UI complaints. 1. The widget crashes sometimes and won't load articles. I have to remove, then replace the widget to get it to load again. 2. Please add a dark mode! I love checking the news first thing in the morning but the stark white background is killing me!

3 ★ As an app, sometimes videos don't load correctly. As a news source they are better than most, but you can still tell they are searching for good ratings for awards and are pushing bias opinions like all the rest. Also Americans don't say "taken to hospital" they would say "taken to [the] hospital". Even the slightest change in a quote makes you wonder what else the writer had adjusted in the artical. However, it is still a better news source than most.

4 ★ I live the UI and organization of the app! I haven't personally had any technical issues since downloading it a couple weeks ago and the news is always up to date. The only reason why I give the app 4/5 stars is due to the fact that there's no way to save or bookmark articles if I want to read them later. It would definitely be a 5-star app if this were to be added in a future update!

5 ★ Really enjoy this news app with great worldwide coverage. Always updated and easy reading. Love the fact that, in case we missed it, there are links within posts for older newsfeeds relating to the same subject. Recommended!

5 ★ It's so refreshing to get a clearer perspective on events around the world. Particularly news about the USA. The biased and non factual news many USA agencies present to us in the USA, is infuriating. They scew the news to promote their perceptions of reality. It is difficult to find a news agency that is willing to report the facts as facts without filters. Thank you BBC.

4 ★ Dunno why I updated the app. Was earlier working fine. Now when scrolling down, the text goes missing every once in a while. Have to scroll up again to find the missing text. Irritating as the end of paragraphs are when one scrolls down but then that to be read part goes missing. Hope an update is coming soon. Eagerly checking every time. Please do something. I read the longform stories. This makes it hell. Otherwise the app was perfectly fine for what it did.

4 ★ Authentic news. Great UX. Found just one glitch. I use a widget in home screen. When I place the widget for 1st time, I can see the news in it properly. However, after some days or when I restart my phone or may be some other cases, it just remains with the text "Loading..." and nothing loads ever. I need to remove the widget and again place it, for viewing any news in it. Wish the widget refreshed automatically or at least had a refresh button. Until then, the widget doesn't seem viable.

1 ★ I don't want to watch a 12 second ad on Huawei Every Single Time I try and play a video. Intrusive and irritating. Evey once in a while would be understandable, especially when the text fields are riddled with ads anyway.

4 ★ The app gives you the ability to focus on the topics you are most interested in, while also making it easy to explore topics you may otherwise have missed. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes the app just stops working, and then needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled. It's a small annoyance with an otherwise excellent app.

4 ★ A good source of information for me as I live abroad, however it is quite irritating sometimes when it doesn't finish up to the point, you open it up and it tells you the same thing, and also when you turn it on to horizontal and back to vertical it restarts from the beginning, please get it sorted,(for five stars)
