Opening Hours: 10:00～17:00（Fridays and Saturdays till 20:00）＊Last entry 30 minutes before closing
Closed: Mondays (except Mon 30th April open)
(Kyoto exhibition)
Exhibition period: 8th June (Fri）～ 22nd July 2018（Sun）
Venue: National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto (Okazaki Park, Sakyō Ward, Kyoto)
Opening Hours: 9:30～17:00（Fridays and Saturdays from 8th ～ 30th June till 20:00; Fridays and Saturdays from 6th ～ 21st July till 21:00）＊Last entry 30 minutes before closing
Closed: Mondays (except Mon 16th July open; Tues 17th July closed)
This app provides a multi-lingual guide to the exhibits.

■About the exhibition
Yokoyama Taikan (1868-1958) is one of the greatest figures in modern Japanese art, with a legacy of over 1500 views of Mount Fuji, and a more than forty-metre-long ink-painted picture scroll,“Metempsychosis”. This exhibition celebrates 150 years since his birth.
“One must always paint with the heart”. “The painting is the artist”. These words give us an extremely serious impression on Taikan, but he also had a tremendous sense of adventure and playfulness. He used his creativity to surprise people with his paintings, and constantly strove to develop new expressive possibilities.
This exhibition presents a selection of about 90 of Taikan’s works, beginning with his younger years, allowing viewers to form their own image of this great artist .
