UserLAnd was created and is being actively maintained by the folks behind the popular Android
application, GNURoot Debian. It is meant as a replacement for the original GNURoot Debian app.
When UserLAnd first launches, it presents a list of common distributions and Linux applications.
Clicking one of these then leads to a series of set-up prompts. Once these have been completed,
UserLAnd will download and set up files required to start the task that has been selected. Based on
the set-up, you will then be connected to your Linux distribution or application in a terminal or
VNC viewing Android application.

4 ★ I'd be cool to have Phosh or some other mobile desktop as a choice. Out of box is just an easy tryout. No fiddling and other nonsense.
1 ★ When I type rubbish appears on the command line. Hopeless.
4 ★ It's a great app, i expected less and it came like a flood and i spend my whole time userland....I'm rating 4/5 and not 5 coz of the wifi monitor mode and i hope you work on that....
5 ★ I would just say: The best app ever to run multiple OS on your android phone.
5 ★ Fast, full-featured (Termux is missing too much by default for my taste), good-looking, and allows easy management of multiple installations. I use one filesystem as a "daily driver" for programming projects and create & destroy others as needed to help make scripts for installing/building third-party projects or to attempt to recreate problems when I'm acting as tech support.
4 ★ Nice but need to improve the connection speed
5 ★ Great way to use nix tools on kindle!
4 ★ I'm a very casual user. In the beginning when I was using this app, the Alpine image would outright refuse to work. This continued for a week or two until a fix was pushed. Since then it's been fairly stable. Overall I think UserLAnd is pretty good.
5 ★ works great with bvnc, got to run almost every program i wanted except for ones that required gl support (namely blender), no audio either but that's a minor issue, all in all this is probably the best vm in the play store
4 ★ Great for letting me run a whole slew of Linux applications on an Android device, with minimal runtime overhead. However, it is limited in certain areas, particularly regarding graphics and dbus (in this version). And Linux is not happy without dbus. [I've gotten that partially working, but it's less than perfect. Shell scripts, custom sockets, etc.] Still, in my attempts to fix these issues, I'm actually doing the development _ON_ my Android device, using standard glibc, which is fabulous!
5 ★ The app is very nice. Keep up the good work UserLand team. Kudos
3 ★ This app makes installing a few linux distro on android exceptionally easy. Just some small problems i am facing with this. One is, if the android screen turns of or the system stays idle for some times, the UserLand sassions turns off. Secondly, on my Ubuntu with Xfce4 desktop environment, systemd does not start with the boot. Thus, I am not getting what i was expecting to get. This two lackings causing more work. Restart the system again and again and restart servers etc again and again.
3 ★ the project is very cool, i learned how to build my debian distro from scratch through shell\bash and i'm still willing to learn and do more with it on the portable, it's just that 'm facing issues with the synaptic package manager (it wouldn't even open) and i'm also wondering if i could bridge a wireless adapter through my phone's port if that's possible?
1 ★ It won't allow me to create the User name even just to begin setup. I tried everything and keep getting OK no the same stupid message: User name Mish be 1-30 characters long and.contain capital and lower case letters a.d numbers. So if there's such a glitch in the program that it won't accept what it's demanding I can't believe that the app doesn't contain other broken elements. Crappy price of work.
5 ★ Works, no root needed at all. One of the issues with all the others is they download an image and your run as root in the image which I really don't love. The only thing I'd like in this is being able to customize the font/colors and mount the sdcard area.
