5 ★ Super impressed with City response to my requests.
1 ★ Why bother dealing with heroin crack animal abuse fecal matter bloody syringes threats of violence day-in-and-day-out right outside the window of someone paying $3,000 for studio because it's in the tenderloin
2 ★ app needs work
5 ★ Thank You to All The City Workers
4 ★ Set up was really well done! Took 2 seconds!!!
3 ★ The app should be developed continuously. Right now the address detection system is pretty bad. There should be an option to include submissions to contact the police for non emergency requests. Also, the open and closed status is very inaccurate. Some of my tickets are open, even though I know they are closed. Some are marked closed when the request has been transferred...or even when nothing has been done.
3 ★ update: they have better at addressing "valid" request, but i notice a lot of them get closed as SFPD issues and they no longer forward complaint to the police. original review: i reported an on going issue of a recurring encampment on Polk street and all they did was close my report! And last night a body was hauled away... DOA!!! Great job of doing nothing
3 ★ It's a useful app, but it's very glitchy. It doesn't reliably show whether a request has been submitted, and going to another screen to check makes the inputted data disappear. Rotating the screen seems to interrupt submission. The location finder is unreliable, sometimes putting the report some distance away from where the phone is right now, and sometimes overriding manually input addresses.
1 ★ Out of the 5 requests I've made with this app. Only 1 of 5 requests had an actual response by police, the other 4 times they just closed the request saying the police came when they didn't. I report from my house and watch until they don't come but say they do and close the request. I'll just keep calling the police non-emergency number from now on, they always come when you call.
2 ★ Easy to use but also frustrating as posting accomplishes little. The city doesn't address the public health crisis even with hundreds of reports and horrific press coverage.
4 ★ Installed at 9am, registered, filed a trash complaint, city worker was there at 11am. Super! Loses one star for address problem, noted by other reviewers, but I was able to write the address when I made the complaint.
3 ★ You can get interesting information on this app about what's going on in your neighborhood. However, the Mao is glitchy making it much less useful.
2 ★ This app is only sometimes usable at all for these reasons: - When one enters an address, the app sometimes 'corrects' it to a different address, e.g. 347 San Jose Avenue to 340 San Jose Avenue. This makes it impossible to correctly report an incident in these cases. - The location screen always opens centered on City Hall. When I zoom out and scroll to place the crosshairs where I want to report an incident, the app almost always crashes, losing any other info I've already entered. - Also, it would be far better if the location screen stayed centered where I left it, since I generally report incidents in a small area around my own home, and never around City Hall. This is on a Pixel 2 with the most recent Android that Google has seen fit to send me. If these issues are fixed and someone lets me know (dave at schweisguth dot org) I'll be happy to re-review.
4 ★ Was easier before. Blighted reporting and there issues not popping up.lost
3 ★ I suppose it's exactly what you'd expect from a government app - it does what it does reasonably well with an ugly UI. But unfortunately, there are a lot of things that it could also do that it doesn't, and it's a bummer. For example, you can't report broken parking meters through the app. But SFMTA says to call 311 to report broken meters. So why can't I report it in the app?
