Created in 2007, the second term of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (2007-2010), the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) promoted the resumption of the planning and execution of great works of social infrastructure, urban, logistics and energy of the country , contributing to its rapid and sustainable development.

Thought of as a strategic plan for recovery planning and recovery of investments in structuring sectors of the country, the CAP has contributed decisively to the increase of jobs and income generation, and increased public and private investment in key works.

It was crucial for the country during the global financial crisis between 2008 and 2009, providing employment and income to the Brazilians, which in turn ensured the continuity of consumer goods and services, keeping active the economy and alleviating the effects of the crisis on national companies.

In 2011, the CAP has entered its second phase, with the same strategic thinking, enhanced by years of experience of the previous phase, more resources and more partnerships with states and municipalities for the implementation of structural works that can improve the quality of life in Brazilian cities.

In 2015, it stands out as a consolidated program with a portfolio of about 37,000 enterprises and volume of significant investments. This is the essence of a sequenced program of works that generates development and offers better quality of life for Brazilians.
