Get the most from your visit to the Peak District & Derbyshire with the Peak Explorer App, free on your Android Phone/ iPhone.
Peak Explorer is a comprehensive visitor guide to the Peak District & Derbyshire, including details of hundreds of things to see and do, towns & villages, attractions, outdoor activities, places to eat, shopping and Derbyshire’s famous well dressings. With plenty of ideas about great places to visit, whatever your interests, this app will be an invaluable guide for your trip to the Peak District.
The data is fully cached on the phone so you don’t need a signal to use it. The search functionality allows you to search near your current location, and filter the data to choose specific interests.
Each entry describes the entry with pictures, opening times and full contact details. Integrated with maps, a quick link shows directions from your current location by car or on foot.

1 ★ First I thought to look for well dressings, but there is no way to filter by date, which is perhaps THE most important thing for a one week visitor. The list doesn't have dates either. Then I thought to look for a village, so found the right screen and went in. Pressing search just lets me filter what shows on the map or in the list - there is no way to search by typing something.

1 ★ Barely works. Had to install twice before anything but a blank screen showed. Still appears to have more pics of hills at night than anything else. Screens that do show are non-responsive. Not impressed at all

1 ★ I don't care why you need my personal info etc., the very fact that you seek it is not acceptable. Nor is it mentioned in "what's new"!

2 ★ Downloaded the app. Played around with it for half hour then ditched it. So little content it appears to be a prototype. Nothing really highlighting the activity potential in the Peak District. And the structure is odd with blurred, pixelated images. Disappointing.
1 ★ After installing, and on running for the first time, it got into a loop updating maps, events etc. and I didn't manage to get any further than that. Uninstalled after 2 mins
1 ★ Really disappointed. I am in the Peak District yet the app states there is nothing nearby. I have tried using WiFi and mobile data and with location on AND off just incase. FYI Tourist Information Centre is by the Pavilion Gardens. Get leaflets from there instead as this doesn't work. I tried for three days.
