App permissions

NYS Excelsior Pass Wallet 3.0.0 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows an application to read or write the system settings.

Allows an app to use fingerprint hardware.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

1 ★ Totally useless. I was fully vaccinated at a NYS site. But whenever I try to complete the application (I've tried several times), it tells me no pass is available. Even worse, there's a form to fill out if you have a problem with a promise it will be corrected and/you will be contacted. I have filled the form out 3 times over a period of several weeks, with no resulting contact or correction in my information. NYS HAS TOTALLY SCREWED THIS ONE UP!

5 ★ Worked perfectly for me. Received my vaccine through a hospital. They also put a registered number on my card. Maybe that helped 🤷

1 ★ I was vaccinated at Bushwick Educational Campus in February (along with presumably tens of thousands of other people) and it doesn't show up on the list of vaccine sites. There's no way to contact anyone about it. Don't release half-baked stuff. It does more harm than good.

5 ★ I feel terrible for all the people who had frustrating experiences with this app. Maybe NYS IT has fixed the earlier problems. I just downloaded it for myself and my wife and had no problems at all. Scanned the QR code right into the phone. (First time I've ever scanned ANYTHING with my phone!) And we were both vaxxed outside the state system.

1 ★ My husband got his pass up within minutes. I went on a minute later and have gotten error messages every time I try. I get no further than getting to add info on the name and birth date page. Worse thing is that the message indicates that I will probably have to use something else other than this pass app. Come on New York. Do better. Fix the app or the online information to get this up and running for all residents rather than some. It's not that complicated.

1 ★ Immediately crashes on Galaxy S21 Ultra. Uninstalled, restarted, etc. Worked fine on S10+.

1 ★ Really worthless so far because the system is basically broken. First you need to retrieve a vaccine record from a different website, which of course NYS doesn't seem to have access to accurate records unless it's from a state run vaccine site (one month later!). But you can fill out a form requesting them to check again to find your record, and it simply tells you that you can't use the app and it's worthless. Why did they even try to create such a system if it's broken from the beginning?

2 ★ Seems to work well for state/county run sites - less so for alternative locations. My husband got his done at a county-run location, I got my shots at a local pharmacy. The site has no problem pulling up his info, but can't find mine despite receiving my last dose almost a month ago. The site offers no help except to call the pharmacy, which had no additional information about what might be happening and didn't know what could be causing it since the information I was entering was accurate.

4 ★ The app works as described but has only one problem that I can see, once you goto the barcode menu your phone's screen gets brighter as it should but once you shut down the Excelsior Pass it doesn't dim, you then need to shut down you're cellphones screen than reopen it to bring your phones screen back to normal.

5 ★ This app worked for me, although it took me a minute to figure out how to add the pass which I obtained on my computer to the wallet that I installed on my phone. At first I thought it wasn't working, but then I realized you can't click on the "scan your code," but have to click on the "+" sign. I had gotten the pass on my computer without an issue!

1 ★ Does not work. I was vaccinated back in March and when I went to renew the pass (which I had a hard time getting the first time) is now not coming up, saying that it cannot find the record for it.

1 ★ Waste of time. Got my second dose in March. I was entering the info right off my card. No record found. App said my info was probably entered wrong by the people at the site and I have no option to use the pass. Hold onto the card. GREAT!

4 ★ It took months after my vaccine administered at a non-NYS run site to be recognized. When it was recognized, obtaining the pass was a smooth process.

3 ★ Have tried installing and reinstalling. Each time I select the pictures (traffic lights, bridges, etc.) After one try I keep getting the message "too many attempts". UPDATE: cannot do this on your phone. Need to do it from a computer. Once you have the QR code it's easy.

5 ★ The pass now works for a full 365 days after your second shot.... You can get the pass 15 days after your second dose (they've corrected the information about this that used to say 14 days)..... I think they've done a good job here! Well done NYS. Ps if you retrieved a pass before without the new extension, you need to retrieve a *new* pass to get the 365 days.
