Description
The functions familiar from Yle Uutisvahti can now be found even better in the Yle application. Using the For you and Nearby lists, you can choose which topics and areas you want to follow in the My section of the application.
If you are a Uutisvahti user, you can automatically transfer your current subject emphasis to the Yle application. You can make a transfer using your Yle ID when you log in for the first time.
App permissions
Yle 6.25.0 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an application to write to external storage.
Allows access to the vibrator.
Required to be able to access the camera device.

2 ★ Great app, could have filtering options. Except the 2021 May update is causing a lot of issues. Including not starting at all anymore, on a Galaxy A50.
1 ★ Articles in English cannot be found in the app, but if open from yle.fi website, app open them. So you jump from the website to the app and back to read recent news. Uninstalling to use just the website.
1 ★ Way too slow to start, sometimes images don't load in the scrollable image stories.. not a good experience, the website works a lot better.
2 ★ Only time in the year I want to use this app and I can't do what was promised: vote the best dress. App is slow, crashed instantly and can't submit my vote. My husband had same problem when he uploaded this god forsaken app.
1 ★ Freezes on start screen with nothing being shown. This has apparently lasted a year now and nothing has done anything about this? Seriously?
1 ★ Using this app force stories in Chromium based web browsers to load in the app, preventing the use of translation plugins. This makes YLE.fi difficult to impossible to access beyond the specific content in foreign language for non-Finnish speakers.
2 ★ After setting one bookmark, the app just shows the Yle logo and nothing else. Better to uninstall and save a link to the site on the phone home screen.
2 ★ I suppose it works but I see no advantage to using the webpage, just another unnecessary app. Uninstalling.
3 ★ Sovellus ei tunnista kosketusta, joten tätä ei pysty käyttämään ollenkaan. The app doesn't recognize touch input so I can't use it at all.
