Description

Version 2 has been released (separate download). Version 2 includes many new and exciting features!

Create your own Android TV channels to launch your installed sideloaded applications or any other installed Android application.

With our channel creator you can access your applications directly from the home screen which means you do not need another launcher to open any of your applications (sideloaded or not).

Your custom channels can hold as many of your applications as you wish and you can customize all aspects of the channel; from it's name to it's logo.

You can design your own tiles from the applications icon/banner, use an icon pack, pick from an included tile, or specify the location of an image online.

With the added ability to add multiple apps to any tile you can organize your applications into the style that suits you.

Sideload Channel does also includes a "launcher mode" so that you can test your configuration or use it as an alternative method to launch your applications.

Requires Android 8.0 Oreo

5 ★ This is a very good app to deal with the horrid Oreo update*. You can customize the screen as you like. Very easy to use and sensible operation. To get to 5 stars it would be ace if you could :- 1. Allow more lines of apps - so apps can be sorted to more horizontal lines. 2. Allow for changing background images/wallpapers, which i am really missing from previous stock v7 version 3. Create Status bar for - Time, date, location etc... 4. Create Tabs on app lines which contain more relevant apps (like drawers) Cheers & Keep up the good work !!!

1 ★ I only bought this in August and now there's another app with more features than this. Money, money, money.

5 ★ I had issues, but since been resolved. Thank you for a great product!

5 ★ Great app, exactly as advertised.

1 ★ so, instead of updating this app, you make another with new features that should be available to people that supported you with this, lame dev, very lame...

5 ★ Awesome app! Must have for the Oreo launcher! Performs exactly as advertised, if not better. Would easily pay double than the listed price. Great for organizing apps on the launcher; and my favorite, organizing all of the GeForce Now/Android games on the Nvidia Shield. Great Android app development.

5 ★ I love it! I have a love / hate relationship with the new oreo home interface with my nvidia shield tv. I love the channels but hate the ability to make my own channels. That's where this comes in, customize your own channels! Works perfectly and I've now added several new channels to my home! Thank you so much!

4 ★ It was a little overwhelming to get started and figure out how to add things. However, once I had time to sit down and play around with the app, I was finally able to customize Android TV launcher like I wanted!

5 ★ I like the app just having trouble figuring out how to make the apps show like normal apps in the home page, they get installed to something like a folder ---like sideload launcher. I am editing my review to 5 stars they were good enough to answer me and give me a little video on how to use it,exactly what I needed! No other way to contact thye devs was wondering if I could get link to tut that you had made for me,as a lot of people I send to app need help

4 ★ This app, plus the new Oreo version of android, has allowed me to completely customize how my home screen is organized on my Nvidia Shield. My games "channel" only includes the games I have actually downloaded - which is how I want it. No empty space for unwanted recommendations. My only complaint: I used Oreo's original Apps channel, and included only those I wanted. Then made my own "channels". Problem: the icons added to each channel by Sideload are bigger than the standard size used by Oreo, and cause a lack of consistency and uniformity. This is true regardless of which tile type I choose to represent the app. Unappealing aesthetically, and also means the five or six "channels" I have set up do not quite fit on the screen: the bottom channel is only half there. Dropping the sizes to match the standard icon sizes would make this a perfect app for its purpose

5 ★ This app really makes a huge difference to the home screen on the Nvidia Shield TV. It is probably how the new Oreo interface should have been. Very simple to use & when I emailed the developer about something he responded very quickly. If anyone could suggest some good icon packs it would be appreciated. Don't hesitate to purchase this app, I am sure that you will be more than happy!!!

5 ★ The Oreo launcher saving grace! I keep recommending it to everybody over the Nvidia forum. The only thing that's annoying me is the lack of options for the channel image. Given that Android TV has no file picker, I assume you're doing what you can, but we still need more. App icons/banners are inappropriate, and the included tiles are lackluster. We could get away with it if there was an easy way to create a custom icon pack, but that seem to be a no-go for most people as it basically requires to create an app. That's a shame, because those channel imgs are pretty much in your face all the time.. Fetching images from URLs seems the only practical option left, and would be much appreciated.

5 ★ This made my Nvidia Shield TV great again after the Oreo update :-) Efforts much appreciated, very chuffed! Some minor tweaks and polishing would make a great app even better, such as: Visual repositioning of icons Occasional anomaly that bar is names 'Sideload Channel' rather than its label such as 'Media' when navigating about The already mentioned issue with some icons not displaying correctly, although all large icons have worked fine for me All above are minor enhancements fantastic addition to an Oreo Shield. Quick question, not sure I'd need it but can you add more channels?

5 ★ This app is easy to use, makes the home screen more user friendly and customizeable. Had to get help from the the developer to import/export the set up from one TV to another. Thanks and good job.

5 ★ This is what Oreo for Android TV should look like. I have all my apps on the front page sorted by type of app and usage. Apps rows, a utility row a games row etc etc. Absolutely worth the short money to buy it. Cannot recommend more highly. If I could make the icons just a bit smaller than is allowed that would make this 5.5 stars, lol
