4 ★ So far easy to use. Good connectivity to mobile device for reviewing. Images are clear.
2 ★ Dashcam works well with good video but when connected to the cams WiFi and watching a video its constantly buffering. Plays 2-5 seconds then pauses for 10+ seconds, plays 2-5 seconds and pauses again. This is a massive pain trying to review a video like this. Review of a 5 min video takes forever like this. Also quite annoying the app runs in the background until I force stop the app. Otherwise the dashcam itself is good.
1 ★ I am unable to transfer any files to my phone and the only way to share footage is via Facebook or YouTube. I am blown away at the ridiculousness of this oversight and am thoroughly annoyed.
5 ★ This is one of the easiest apps I've used. Dash cam is super easy to use also
5 ★ Very easy to install and operate, records great 1890p hd, this dash cam is well worth the money!! I love how easy it is to copy videos and access settings via WiFi. The app is professional. I have had this cam for two years and use it everyday!!
3 ★ It's ok, I guess. Would be nice to see vids in real time by passanger. Oh, not apps fault, but the adhesive mount is WORTHESS!
2 ★ I downloaded this app as a means of getting videos off of my dashcam and onto my phone quickly in case of an accident, but this app has proven to be anything but quick. It takes a long time (several minutes) to download video to the app from the camera and even longer (ten minutes and counting) to compress video if you want to upload it to Youtube. The app also uses really strange language, which leads me to believe it was developed by people who didn't speak English as a first language. That's fine, but it's hard to understand what I need to do to connect Wifi and do different things within the app. This is fairly disappointing coming from Anker, as I normally like their products. If you have the ability, I would recommend just taking out the SD card and downloading video directly to your computer, as it's probably faster than using the app.
2 ★ Good app but never stops running without force stop. Fix this issue and earn three additional stars.
5 ★ Works like a charm. Very simple and easy to use. Camera has great picture quality day and night. I've bought 2 different brand cameras in the same price range to see which one is better. Roav a1 was an easy win. Better picture quality, easier navigation through menus, great build quality. Dont expect 1Gbps wifi speeds on a $50 camera. It probably has cheapest 802.11a wifi chipset as an added value feature. It works, just a little slow, but works. Cons? Too cheap??
4 ★ I try to connect to the camera and it gives vague instructions about setting up "tethering" on the camera. it makes no sense. I think they just mean enable Wi-Fi. eventually I got everything going and even installed a version update. the image is good albeit oversharpened. it's hard to read license plates unless you are really close. still for the price it seems okay.
3 ★ App is good to have as a companion to my Roav Dash Cam A1 but each time I update from version 3.0 to 3.2 the update appears to work but when I connect to my cam via wifi the version reverts back to 3.0. Current version states 3.2 but I'm sure it will revert to 3.0 once again after I connect to the cam via wifi as it has already done several times now. It also took some time upgrading from version 2.4 to 3.0. Trying to remember what I did to stop reverting from version 3.0 to 2.4. Any solutions?
4 ★ I've only been using it for a day so far, but it seems to run really well aside from show download speeds from the camera to the phone and if you watch a video directly from the camera without downloading, it buffers every few seconds. I'm recording at 1080 though, so I don't expect a great connection speed from the camera. The only complaint I have with the app is that it doesn't have a way to stream live video from the camera to the phone.
1 ★ This requires creating a VPN to see your data. The transfer speed of video from camera to device is insanely slow. Videos are saved as .MOV, which means your video player probably won't work. The help line knows nothing, they seem to simply be skimming the website for answers. I checked there first, that's why I'm asking for help. . . I wish I would have just bought a better dashcam. Now
4 ★ Does what it needs to for managing and downloading videos from the Roav Dashcams (A1). Interface makes sense and is easy to use, with two notes: 1) Requires location permissions. They say they need it to connect to the dashcam. Not sure if that's right or not but I'm not too worried about it. 2) Requires the creation of a VPN to download videos. Fishy to say the least. If you let it create the VPN and then delete it from your settings, everything still works. Do this. Untrusted VPNs are bad.
5 ★ I haven't used the app too much but so far so good. I use it with my C2 Pro and everything seems to run well. You have to download the video clips to your phone to watch them without being connected to the camera, which it seems some people haven't figured out yet. Once downloaded you can find them in the 'local storage' section, otherwise it will only been viewable by clicking on your camera, while it is connected.
