3 ★ This app frustrates me no end. Its almost impossible to message hosts, because the page jumps about and lags. You can type out the message, but if you want to go back to edit it - forget about it. A few times because it has lagged so much, the message has sent before I wanted it to! I love workaway as a company so much, but honestly the app is very difficult to use sometimes.
2 ★ Previously 5 stars but... UPDATE: I want to be able to search accurately on the map. When I search near a town, all of the surrounding hosts appear in the centre of the town. I understand that you can't give away the exact location, and that you want to populate the hosts around a centre but this is very misleading. Hosts 15 miles away appear in the centre! We just rejoined (at an increased rate) to be able to search like this. Disappointed.
1 ★ Really bad platform with a lot bugs, looks like the programming of this app is abandoned for a long time ago. Don't spend your money with it!
1 ★ Paid the steep price to be a member, messaged lots of people with thoughtful messages over the last year, got no responses. Then covid and of course no refund from these guys. I've gotten nothing out of this except wasted time and money.
3 ★ An app should make things easier - not the case here. The login screen isn't working very well, took a few goes. The message system is quite infuriating as when you reach the bottom of the box it keeps sending you to the next entry point (I arrive on) and you have to keep scrolling back up to see what you're writing! The map screen for hosts seems to use wikipedia maps (I'd never heard of it) and you can't scroll or zoom at all! Few fixes could make a huge difference... I'll stick to the website
3 ★ Few bugs I noticed right away. It sure has space for development. I like the UI, but messaging has bugs. When I write message and it's longer than the frame, displayed text doesn't roll down as I write but stays on topand so I can't see what I'm writing. Also it would be helpful if there would be an option to access profiles I contacted even though they haven't responded. I can click their icon and get to their profile only if they respond, not otherwise. Hope you can fix these. Thanks! ;)
4 ★ Still new but have not found any issues. Intuitive, easy to get around. Good messaging system. I will give 5 stars after using it more.
5 ★ The Workaway *APP* works just fine. But, getting a volunteer position has been difficult for me. Most of the hosts want people who can do manual labor or childcare. I do IT, web development and office/admin and, believe it or not, there isn't much demand for these skills on Workaway. If manual labor and/or childcare is not your thing your Workaway volunteer options are very limited. Lastly, if you are African American, it may be more difficult to find a host, so be prepared for rejection.
2 ★ The Workaway project is great! It gives huge opportunities to explore, to see, to know, to feel. I really appreciate it. Thank you, guys who made it to be Two stars goes for the application only, not for the project. Application doesn't work smooth. Problems are with maps, loading and in common with speed of work
4 ★ Very useful. Only thing I would add is a feature to allow you to mark a workaway as uninteresting so it doesn't appear in your searches anymore. There can be a section of everything you've deemed uninteresting so you can always reselect it for your search. Also if something is added or changed to the workaway it would appear again in your searches.
3 ★ I am glad you made an app cause it's more convenient while travelling. However, the app is not intuitive at all. You cannot make a search with only a term in every country. You cannot reset all the filters we put. The cards system to view the hosts is, for me, not the best as we only have to rely on the image instead of the beginning of their presentation. But the worst is that whenever you swap with another app, the app restarts. I guess that's the beginning so keep doing the good work! :)
4 ★ I have applied for a couple of positions (location specific) but I only got one reply and that was incomplete. The messaging feature resembles a direct real-time immediate-response chat box, but in practice it is asynchronous messaging (at leady from hosts side). For a user not familiar with this layout and the platform, this can be confusing.
