1 ★ If you don't get pro, you cannot backup your videos at all, essentially it holds your journal videos captive to get your money. Don't use it unless you plan on paying for pro. I'm getting pro now Because I have to (didn't pay enough attention to my ability to back up videos until 20 deep). I 100% do not recommend Also you can't rename them after you record, vastly limiting your ability to organize
5 ★ It's simple, and doesn't take much space. It works better than other Video Diary I had before, with almost no mistakes made so far. Ideal during the lockdown.
4 ★ I have purchased a premium version just to be able to save on SD card due to the low memory on my phone. However there's a bug that doesn't let me start recording. I have sent 2 emails to the developers and no response yet. Too shame because the app is great... and uploading to google drive isnt an option since some videos can be uploaded, some none...maybe it's something about the file size... LE: i changed my rating as I discovered my SD card was broken, but google drive comment remains
1 ★ App continues to say "failed to record." i bought the premium features, but haven't been able to use the app at all due to this problem. Its been 2 weeks and I'm still waiting for the developers to find a solution. Before purchasing, I recommend using the app for a while before buying there premium features as you might run into issues not being able to use the app. I have also asked for a refund, but still have not received a response from developers.
1 ★ Okay so after doing 7 video journals my storage is full and I ended up having to pay to unlock the feature so I could upload to google drive. This annoyed me because I really want to keep my videos. Once I payed and tried to upload to google it is unable to upload the 5minute videos that I done. It only upload short videos being made. Total waste of time money and most of all disheartening I wont get those videos back!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
3 ★ UPDATE - as below this for me has been a brilliant video diary app, worked perfectly, just warning though, I have premium and sync to google drive. Just got a new phone and there was no way I could transfer all my videos, whatever I did it didnt work, wont upload from cloud, if I copy storage folder across wont even recognise that. I still have all my video as on google drive but just to let you know this is the only app on my phone that didnt transfer data across, my journal is completely blank, believe me I tried. I emailed for support but no reply and doing a google search I suspect the company has either ceased or no longer supports app. No update since May and no reply to comments since Aug speaks volumes. JUST BE WARNED IF YOU VALUE YOUR DATA YOU MAY LOSE IT ALL IF YOU CHANGE PHONES. I have my videos now on Journey app and will continue to use this but periodically transfer them across. Such a shame as there is little else like this out there. Very good and reliable, can try and it then pay premium for no ads and upload to Google drive. Could be a few more moods to chose from but I use mostly as diary to capture short events rather than my mood. Couldn't decide between this and vournally but went for this due to one of payment rather than subscription. Definitely recommend it.
5 ★ This app couldn't have come at a better time. Which doesn't this app have 1000000 downloads already? It's simple to use and does what it was meant to do
3 ★ So for now giving 3 stars. I've just barely done one video so honestly I don't have a great frame of reference for everything in the app quite yet but I did want to point out one thing already, I cannot flip the the picture while recording. Once I've used more I'll try to come back in with a better review of how it works out for me personally.
5 ★ Wow so far so good!!! I am on a journey of self discovery and Its really hard to find time to write your thoughts moods and self learnings in a book. Where does the videos save to? I thought it may have been saved to my photo gallery I was so happy as its not taking up storage. thanks
1 ★ so i decided to try this kinda thing for the first time. never kept a journal or anything. first video entry was a 7 minute attempt to say how i felt while learning what to say. ended with a "failed to record video" and gone. wouldn't recommend this to my enemies
5 ★ I enjoy the app for it's privacy! For instance My phone is my only privacy so this helps allot, I use to have 'my dark diary' but spelling got... Boring? So I just had to use this I typed in 'Video diary' not expecting anything id like to pop up but! There it is your app! Your app has really helped me get over something from the past. If anyone needs a video diary this ones the best so far..
5 ★ Love it!! it simple, and doesnt take much space. I haven't had the app long but I am already absolutely in love with the giype journal: video diary lock.It works better than other Video Diary I had before, with almost no mistakes made so far.
1 ★ Will not load my videos to play back! No tech support. Bought the upgrade and still cant get anything to work, I will try to get refund!
1 ★ After I upgraded to premium and tried to up load my videos to my google drive it didnt work. Now half of my videos no longer load at all on the app. after that and its taking up a lot of my phone storage. Im very sad as I lost some important videos!😢
1 ★ I recorded the meaning of my life and instead of it uploading... The app stopped and nothing was saved. First and last time user here 🤷🏽 good luck with this app, great idea, lovely design and appears to be easy to use..... Except when you click 'ok' after your enlightened 12 minute video....
