In that year the University MuhammadiyahPonorogo also managed to open a number of new departments, namely: Governance Studies (S1) in IESP, English Department (S1) in Guidance and Counseling, Department of Accounting (D3) in the faculty of Economics and Nursing Academy under the auspices of the Ministry of Health. Three years later, on 1998 opened the Department of Electrical Engineering (s1) in the Faculty of Engineering. Then in 1998 also successfully opened new courses, namely the Department of Communication (D3) in Social and Political Science and the Department of Finance and Banking (D3) in the Faculty of Economics. From each of these majors now have received accredited status from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) Ministry of National Education Republic of Indonesia.
