يستحب للمسلم أن يقرأ سورة الكهف يوم الجمعة لما روى الحاكم من حديث أبي سعيد قال قال رسول الله صلى عليه وسلم: (من قرأ سورة الكهف يوم الجمعة أضاء له من النور ما بين الجمعتين). رواه النسائي والحاكم مرفوعا وصححه، وقد استحب قراءة سورة الكهف يوم الجمعة جمهور الفقهاء الحنفية والشافعية والحنابلة.
