Statping is an awesome server that is developed in Go Language and is completely open source.
App permissions
Statping 2.2 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Required to be able to access the camera device.
Allows access to the vibrator.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

2 ★ Promising app, but unfortunately the displayed data isn't coherent. E.g. I'll receive a notification that a service was down during a minute but the app doesn't display the failure. Also, for a ICMP Ping service, the app will show 0% uptime while the website displays 100% uptime :-(
4 ★ It works decently, but isn't ready for a production environment. Fine for home use
4 ★ Excellent companion to the Statping service. It would be nice to have a read-only option (no admin privileges).
2 ★ Really nice and easy to set-up concept. However, Android application won't connect, pitty.
1 ★ Latest server code update broke all of my notifications and makes the mobile app crash. Looking for alternative with more stable development. Not ready for production use.
