Description
The DCS system is capable of running conventional AC or DC powered model trains utilizing track power controls as well as the ultimate experience of full featured MTH ProtoSound 2.0 or 3.0 and Atlas O® ProtoSound 3.0 locomotives. In addition, DCS is the only cross-platform model railroad control system. When cabled to a Lionel® command base DCS also runs TMCC® and Legacy® engines all within the same app, on the same track, at the same time!! No other system has this capability.
The DCS app connects directly with our entry level system, the DCS Explorer for those just starting their journey into model railroading. For more advanced users, the DCS Wi-Fi Interface Unit (WIU) in combination with the Track Interface Unit (TIU) or, the all new Wi-Fi Track Interface Unit (WTIU) opens up the vast array of features available within the world of DCS. Run multiple trains simultaneously on the same track, control switches and accessories, and immerse yourself in the depth of sound and control features that is Wi-Fi DCS.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows applications to enter Wi-Fi Multicast mode.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

1 ★ Could not get app to work on an android phone.
2 ★ Ok using this with proto 2 an 3 at 1st only issue was p2 now after a month of no use p3 are messing up ex... P2 must turn sound off 4 it 2 function then back on when it's running then off to change any thing and u can't sound off bell or whistle... P3 had 2 reset them and the explorer to function even tho they were fin last time use... At 150$ 4 explorer this is way to much on these issue see you tub IceBearExprez
4 ★ The app is intuitive. Easy to operate and a lot of fun. My only issue is that frequently I have to refresh the app in the middle of an operating session to continue running my trains. This is a bit frustrating.
1 ★ Edit: No new version, so now I have a huge train in my basement that is basically a paperweight. DO NOT USE THIS SYSTEM. Sometimes glitches and doesn't let me use my already set up trains, but works okay most of the time
5 ★ I've had the app for a while now and it has been working great. Kids love interacting with trains using the app and it helps generate interest with a younger crowd. It's easy to learn and well laid out to find the functions you want in a hurry.
