App permissions

Spectra Bulb 2.3 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to discover and pair bluetooth devices.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows an application to record audio.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to connect to paired bluetooth devices.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

1 ★ Wish it would work properly, but only stays connected for a few minutes then won't reconnect. Phone staying connected to other devices just fine, but this bulb seems to glitchy to be a final release of a quality product. Should work out bugs before releasing a product, craftsmanship and quality are lacking.

3 ★ I agree w/everyone about the speed of the light flashing, should have a way to control it & it would be nice if the colors would fade to the next shade instead of being having such a harsh transition...other than that i love the whole concept of this product. The sound quality is suprisingly clear & loud!

2 ★ WHY CANT I TURN OFF THE SPEAKER? the whole point of a light bulb AND speaker is to have the OPTION to use the speaker, sometimes I want to use the light, but I also want to listen to a video with headphones, which I CANT do with this bulb. Other than that I love it, I love all the colors and it's really fun. If you fixed the speaker issue I would immediately change my rating to five stars

3 ★ Pretty neat. Just really wish there was a way to turn off the irritating noise it makes when you turn it on.

3 ★ The bulb itself is pretty cool, but the app is lacking, I wish the app had an alarm clock so the light would turn on and play music to wake me up

2 ★ I would have to agree with just about everyone. The sound upon connecting, or turning it on is annoying and would be nice if you could disable that sound or the speaker, and I think it would be better if accessing the app it would go to the lighting options not the music after all I bought it as a light bulb not a speaker. Other than that makes for a great light.

3 ★ App needs to improve and annoying start up and pairing sounds need to go away.

2 ★ When it connects and stays connected, it is slick. Bulb itself is great for the money. The connection and turn on sound are irritating, particularly when the Bluetooth connection doesn't stay up. Using with a kid's tablet for a nightlight, I had to unplug it. The unwanted sounds are my biggest complaint. The app UI needs a lot of help too. Getting it to connect gives a lot of annoying hints of "connect the bulb first", even if paired (hint ... make the bulb a trusted connection to make this less frequent). Also, if another device is paired, you have to drop/forget the bulb or no other one seems to connect. For general improvements, I would suggest that having media catalog show what is currently playing, or show up as an option to open media with would be good, as would a slow fade option for the automatic color change. Finally, add the ability to group bulbs, or provide an SDK for other devs to make apps for the bulb/update firmware, and this would be an unbeatable product. Looking at their website, however, isn't encouraging & still shows the 2014 product line. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I expect few updates or improvements in the future.

3 ★ Wont do green and one other color and what is with the loud beep. Would prefer the volume start at mid or low

2 ★ Speaker works fine, but app says not connected when you try to do anything with the light. Disappointing.

5 ★ This product is awesome and I love it. I can play my music through my light bulb and the light can be set to stay in 1 color or set to change colors with the beat of the song playing! This is an awesome product because I am a techie and this product lives up to its name! I do not regret this purchase at all! Thanks!!!!

5 ★ Great app, I use this app in a hanging light fixture mood lamp. The auto feature would look cool if there was a transition of colors rather than a quick flash. A bar to change the speed of the transitions would be ideal!

1 ★ The volume is set to minimum on the speaker. When i try to turn it up you can't. The slider goes up but the volume doesn't. Every time the app starts it stops the speaker connection.

1 ★ I gotta try to connect at least 50X before it actually does connect. If it does at that, and I have it as a trusted device on my phone. Please fix!!! 😭

4 ★ Works great, but I would love it if you could add an option to program the light to turn on as well not just off.
