Description
Follow the New Horizons spacecraft on its historic mission to explore the mysterious icy worlds at the edge of our solar system. New Horizons flew by Pluto and Charon on July 14, 2015. It is now venturing out even further and will visit 2014 MU69 - nicknamed Ultima Thule by the New Horizons Science team - in the Kuiper Belt region beyond Neptune on January 1, 2019 - New Years day!
Here is what you can do with Pluto Safari:
Countdown Timers: Track when New Horizons will reach Pluto and Ultima Thule - down to the second - with the Closest Approach countdown clock. The distance to Pluto and Ultima Thule in miles is also displayed.
Location: Provides interactive views on the latest position of New Horizons. Get a bird’s-eye view of our Solar System as New Horizons approaches Pluto and Ultima Thule. Rotate around a detailed 3D model of the New Horizons spacecraft, explore the Pluto system and its moons. Find Pluto in the sky from your home location, or even fly through some of the objects in the Kuiper Belt.
Timeline: Explore detailed New Horizons mission event dates and view select milestones in the interactive solar system simulator.
Guide: A multimedia guide to Pluto, its discovery, the first mission to explore it, and the controversy generated by its demotion to dwarf planet status.
News: Updated information on the latest mission news, data, and discoveries.

5 ★ Wonderful app! Great simulations and also history leading up to the event. Considering NASA said they'd be receiving Pluto system pictures for the next 18 months from the New Horizons space, there is plenty to look forward too. You can tell the love that has gone into making this project.
5 ★ I needed a way to monitor horizon's approach and this app does it without having to go a specific site. So many ways to explore from countless angles as well as up to date images and distance readouts. I don't know about anyone else but I'm excited to have this app on my phone and would recommend to anyone. Also, excellent though provoking music/sounds.: ^)
2 ★ Change up the stuff like probe position"NOW"in relation to the mission for example,what is the next object to be viewed?That is a good bit of something to tell us commoners.Give us real people something to raise us from miry ignorance,pique curiosity and watch the masses popular opinion sway congress to fund more stuff......

5 ★ Is there any way to turn down the brightness of the background stars? Difficult to see moons, planets, and spacecraft.
1 ★ Installed on a Note 3, all it shows is a black screen with a speaker button to turn the background music on and off. Please fix it's been like this since this app was uploaded.

4 ★ In the new horizons view the spacecraft is pointing the wrong way. The high gain antenna should be pointing towards the earth.

5 ★ Looks like an historic event. Thanks for the opportunity to get this as I was doing 3 degrees from BSC, astrophysics, then astronomy, but have 3 new degrees (kids). Lol
5 ★ I just like listening to the music while playing with the app! I like the various viewpoints, daily updates with the notification. It's got the simulation to play with, the updated information and news you need, and it's nice to have the vote for Pluto's status.

1 ★ Got this yesterday and it don't work. Nothing ever loads. Keeps notifying of new articles and when you click them they won't load. Uninstalled
