Description
Stream your music via Jellyfin, Emby or Plex, or copy it onto your device for local playback.
Shuttle includes a built in tag editor, and offers an alternative to the often flaky Android Media Store. With Shuttle, your playlists won't go missing, and your tags will be imported correctly. A wide range of media formats are supported, and S2 ships with built in software codecs for Opus and FLAC.
Other features include:
- A custom built 10-band equalizer with frequency response graph
- Sleep timer
- Day/Night mode & themes
- Android Auto
- Chromecast
- Album shuffle
- Playlists
- Automatic artwork downloading
- Lyrics
- Modern MD2 design
I'm proud of what I've built with Shuttle. I hope you love it as much as I do!

5 ★ Yea for embedded lyrics support! It has its own media scanner/database instead of relying on android's mediastore which is great - no more screwups of selecting a song and having something else play. I like the manual scanning and ability to scan multiple folders on the same level. Jellyfin and other support is a nice addition. Hoping for plex as I run both for various reasons. I owned/used the original Shuttle+ as well which I moved to from rocket player. Dev is very responsive.
5 ★ Shuttle, Shuttle+, and now s2...really a great app for music. Developer actually develops and is responsive. Love the updated features and options to customize. Perfect? nothing is ever, but not too far off- at least for my uses. Can't do 4.5 stars so I rounded up. Easy to use, navigate and plays what I need it to play. Can set up what folders to play from, reorder playlists, EQ, and much more. What I expect from a music player without a bunch of junk. How much music do you play in a day? week? month? year? Well worth it to support the developer in one way or another.
4 ★ Independent media provider is nice, esp. the function to select specific directories for the app to scan. Accent and theme color choices are rather limited compared to S2's predecessor, so I'm hoping to see a return to more customization on that part. $7.49 US price is rather steep for the current state of S2 compared to the OG Shuttle+. Maybe ≤$5? EDIT: Whoops! Forget the scroll bar suggestion. I thought it was not available on my end but it works like it should. App is solid!
3 ★ As a Shuttle+ devotee, S2 is... decent? It'd be cool if I could transfer all my S+ tags, art, etc over to S2. Two things: 1 - I hit "Clear Queue", but the current song keeps playing 2 - can you fix the S+ bug that locks "Ascending"? I accidentally tapped it WEEKS ago, but it won't come undone. 3 - can "Included/Excluded" also apply to playlists? Weird hearing blocked songs pop up again.
2 ★ Really not a fan of the UI changes to put all the controls at the bottom bar. I use a small phone deliberately. Putting absolutely all the controls at the bottom makes things kind of crowded meanwhile the majority of the screen is wasted. Bring back the sidebar! Or at least the option to have some of the controls not all at the bottom.
3 ★ This app is amazing but there is a few problems and suggestion I would love for this app. The problems I'm having are playing some of my local files (MP3) they just won't play. My other problem now is the artist images, they are either the wrong artist or band and it's bothering me so much, Now my suggestion is adding Artist Biographies I would love to view my artists that can have biographies of course :) (Update one issue is solved now)
4 ★ The app works very well, and I like how customizable it is. However, I would like a way to disable the Album grouping under the Artist heading (i.e., when I select an artist, their albums are shown first, then their individual songs).
5 ★ Ive been using the Shuttle music player just about every day for years now, really pleased to see it get an update. I switched over from my old Shuttle+ and this version is way better (and has fixed my playlist issues!). Handles my split releases and compilations with ease. Easy playlist building. Looks really clean and unfussy. Lets me edit my tags and recognises artwork. Most importantly; it sounds great. So many players to choose from but this one works exactly how I want it to.
4 ★ Already fantastic! But I'd live to see a couple more things, the ability to sync remote media onto local storage, perhaps even based on what is oft listened to. And I really like being able to have streamed and local files in the same app, but would like the app to not include remote tracks in the library, if they are already available locally, to avoid having duplicates of some those items.
5 ★ So far it's been amazing. Perhaps most impressively Shuttle 2 tackles the difficult task of providing its own Media Store so your music library is properly imported and tagged, a task so major that it was partly the cause of my previous music players discontinuation. I like that it has an optional 3-row grid view for albums/artists and that the Home screen helps you (re)discover music in your library. I would love to two-finger zoom the grid view to choose the number of rows in the future.
4 ★ Awesome looking player, but it seems the "recently added" function is broken. It shows completely different (seemingly random) tracks as my jellyfin server. Also no offline support for now. I'll wait a few updates before pulling the trigger on the purchase. Edit: Damn, "recently added albums" is what I use most on every jellyfin client. For me, this is a dealbreaker (more than offline play). Edit2: Eh, what the hell. Subscribed for a year for support, because otherwise the app looks/feels great.
5 ★ This is lovely - nice clean UI and no ads. My favourite feature is the suggestions for rarely-listened tracks. A couple of feature requests for the developer: - Please can there be an equaliser preset to make it sound like the megabass on my beloved old Sony minidisc? (yes I'm old) - And for those of us with poor tagging discipline, a way to navigate the filesystem and play whole directories Anyway, great music player that shows a lot of potential.
1 ★ I guess the developers have abandoned the original Shuttle player since there hasn't been an update since 2020. I got my hopes up when I installed this one, but was disappointed to find there's no "cast to" option like the original. I like to support free open source projects but the S2 team have fumbled the ball on this one, all the time and effort in development should've been put into the original Shuttle. S2 sucks bad.
4 ★ After playing around with the app there's 2 points of feedback, 1-Being able to modify the artist/album image with local files or a different provider 2- Organizing songs/albums by year, track or custom because currently you can only see the most recent one, other than that, it's snappy, smooth, quick and minimalistic, without being one of the bunch, overall a great music player I fully recommend
4 ★ Looks nice enough, but no use to me at the moment until it's got offline support - I don't really want a music player for using while I'm at home - unless it was an Android TV app! TBH, it's got to go a long way to beat Yatse as an Emby client, though it does look nicer. The fonts are a bit tiny - could that be something you can configure? Also, the password field shouldn't require a password. I had to create an account with a password to be able to even test it out. Sure, you could argue having a password is always a good idea, but since Emby doesn't force you to have one, this shouldn't either... (and I know lots of Emby users don't have passwords)
