The app can be downloaded and installed for free. However the actual unlocking of the phone is a paid service.

It is extremely easy to unlock your LG. Just use this app to get the code associated to your phone. Most of the times the delivery for LG codes take only minutes.
Once you have the code you can unlock your phone only in a few moments. The procedure can be performed anywhere: local or abroad. There is no need to have access to a SIM of the original carrier.
After unlocking, your handset will be identical with a "Neverlocked" one. You will be able to use it with any GSM carrier around the world. Also, you will be able to install any firmware version (stock or custom), upgrades OTA and even factory reset.

5 ★ Worked for the LG X Pad 8.0 with US T Mobile simlock, using the recommended method - tried other (paid) methods, they didn't work. Costs USD 8.90 well worth, considering the many hours I've spent on things that didn't work
4 ★ -1 star for having to create an account. Received the unlock code 30 minutes after the PayPal transaction went through. Used the alternate method to unlock as I didn't have a different SIM. Found my phone's model in Settings-About-hardware info.
5 ★ I'd had a bit of a carry on with the man at the shop and decided to unlock my phone myself. Code took about 15-20 minutes to come through and it worked fine. Would recommend for the LG K8 at least.
