App permissions

HamSphere 1.0 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

Allows an application to record audio.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.

Allows applications to connect to paired bluetooth devices.

Allows an application to modify global audio settings.

Allows an application to broadcast sticky intents.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

5 ★ you want to know what messes up a good thing! the fine print y'all talked about everything else but what it takes to enjoy this app! you gotta download the log you gotta do this stuff in the Qt card! You got to do a backflip on a moon to really enjoy this app! don't you think it would be wise to give people a heads up on what is all required to enjoy this! just one mans opinion uninstalled!

5 ★ This is the best smallest app that I have. 1.8 or so MB. So far good experience, this is the trial version so I can't talk to these guys yet, but have been listening to many people from all over. Look forward to more positive.

4 ★ I haven't really played around with this app too much being as though I own a few real ham radios, however I am liking this so far. It's perfect for those whom have been thinking about getting into ham radio but want that feel of what's it like first. I only didn't give full 5 stars because I really haven't tested it throughly enough and also it doesn't appear to have the popular 2 meter band in which I use on my hardware radios.

2 ★ I'm a licensed Ham operator so I found listening to the bands was fun. They were often busy and I enjoyed hearing people far away talk to others even further away. Like England to China. I could never have done that with my real ham gear setup at home. Unfortunately, every time I tried to talk to someone myself, the program crashed. When I tried to use the spotting log to jump to a frequency, it crashed. After half a dozen crashes while just trying to use the program, I gave up and uninstalled it.

1 ★ Nothing more than an internet chat room using Skype with poor audio, that the publisher tries to charge a ridiculous yearly subscription for. This has nothing whatsoever to do with amateur radio. If you think that you're Hams using this, and pay for it too, then all I can add is that a fool and his money are easily separated.

1 ★ Poor propigation simulation. Making contacts on bands to places that would not be realisticlly possible. Absolute rubbish. If you want to talk the world with hf then GET YOUR LICENCE. Simple

3 ★ 31oct2014, This app is the smartphone version of ham radio communication (hamsphere) that use computer and internet as the connection media (instead of HF radio - antenna - air - ionosphere ...) Comment for version 1.0, this version seems like only limit the function to just making the contact (QSO) as said in the app description. The only missing is: It do NOT have the feature to real time report to confirm the successful contact (sending the electronic QSL Card). I want to give it 5 but for now it is 3

1 ★ What makes it great, is the Ham enthusiasts who give it that ham flavor. If it was Up To the developers Design, it would have remained as it is; simply a toy.

3 ★ Great consept but to bad its not free..i think loudtalk aka zello roip still one step ahead.its free.roip support and more multi platform...when hamsphere free loudtalk is left behind,. The choise in your hands dev..one step ahead or one step behind..

3 ★ The app is a great tool for the rookies or persons interested in learning how to use an actual hf rig. It does a decent job at simulation of an hf rig.

3 ★ Nice app for cell phones but the frequency tuning knob does not work on 7 & 10 inch RCA tablets, Android 4.4, quadcore CPUs, 16 GB ram, and 32 GB flash memory. Problem does not appear on cell phones but the display is too small. App needs work.

1 ★ And the Dev still wants people to pay to use an app that is no longer supported and 3 years outdated? LOL.. Anyone who is thinking about becoming a licensed ham operator I highly suggest you do it and if you want to check out the world of ham before you take the test do like I did, go on Amazon and buy a cheap $25 BaoFeng HT and jump on to repeaters and just listen. That's what I did and within hours I fell in love with this hobby and within a week I took my test for technician and past.

5 ★ Great app for Android and for people who want to become a ham user the hobby is great and I really think this app would go a long way in teaching others how to get used to talking on a radio before they apply for a licence to use ham equipment very good overall and a great help to others. At least you can get to talk to people all over the world with this app you are not even allowed to talk on a ham radio unless you are licensed or looked over by a licenced operator but this app lets you build your own confidence to do just that great app

3 ★ I rated it 5 earlier but only 3 now, because the android app has stopped working & there appears no solution whatsoever. Even the webpage of HamSphere is inaccessible. There may be bugs around in there servers/apps or malfunctions etc. I am simply waiting to see, if it improves, otherwise bye bye, HamSphere!

3 ★ Ok I like that you have to pay to play! No really, that part alone keeps the messing off the 'air' that is running many fine folks off other platforms like Zello... Make no mistake people this is VOiP and nothing more but it's such a good sim you can really get lost in the fun of HF radio without spending the many thousands the real hobby requires or passing any tests. But the Android app is really outdated, no really, it looks like it was made a long time ago and abandoned but it still let's you play...
