App permissions

Republic 3.30.5.0 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows applications to connect to paired bluetooth devices.

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows an application to send SMS messages.

Allows an application to collect component usage statistics
Declaring the permission implies intention to use the API and the user of the device can grant permission through the Settings application.

Allows an application to read the user's contacts data.

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows an application to modify global audio settings.

Allows an application to record audio.

3 ★ It's great but I still have an issue that I've tried to resolve but seemed to get the same answer each time. Activation promts show up on my screen occasionally when I open the republic app. Whenever this happens, I can't send or recieve messages or calls. This should be fixed by now and I'm positive that it's not my phone because how could it still happen when I did a reset and followed all the ticket instructions as well. Though besides this one annoying glitch, everything else seems great.

4 ★ The app works well. However I've noticed, every time I travel, there is a good possibility I use a lot of data while using maps... Which is fine. My issue comes a week or two later when that data usage suddenly appears in rapid succession. 10% data remaining!! This really needs to be addressed. I did download a map. But it doesn't automatically guide you from the offline map. And as far as I know there is no way to tell. The issue isn't data usage. The issue is it takes weeks for it to show

Ted H ps: I hope that since your affiliation [?] with Dish that they don't buy Republic out, one day, and then turn around and raise our monthly cell phone rates. That would be a deal breaker for me given what I have heard about the way they operate.

5 ★ I'm a Republic Wireless user of 2 years. Was surprised and pleased at how high quality this service is. Help articles for e-very-thing. And the app is super nice, easy to add data or change security settings. Rooting for these guys.

2 ★ I'm about at the end of my rope with this provider. My texts won't go through when I need them to, service is terrible, and it currently won't let me access my voicemail. Whenever I type in my password, it ends my call.

1 ★ According to my conversation with Republic Wireless customer service today, "there are about 5 applications that could be very problematic for the service...VPN Unlimited, Open VPN, Gas Buddy, and Anti Virus and Security & Antivirus Guard. VPN applications are known to interfere with the Republic Wireless applications that also act as a VPN of sorts." If you use those applications, or applications that acts as VPNs, you should know they could impact service. Additionally, I recently purchased a Pixel 4a from Republic, and the cell coverage with it is terrible, although wi-fi calling is flawless. This is in sharp contrast to the excellent reception with my older Moto Z2 Play phone with the same applications. I waited over 14 days to reach out to support as i was trying to troubleshoot the problem my self. Now I have a boat anchor for a phone. Hello. Hello! Hello!! Not again. Ahhhhh!!! Just my experience.

5 ★ I've used this service without any problems since May 2015. The only complaint I have is the price increase from 10 dollars a month to 15 with my new phone. I have always been a light user and always used wifi when available for calls and texts.

3 ★ Customer for 10 yes. Works ok. Except when you have to update your cc account. .................Update...........I finally got someone to fix the problem. Now it charged me for 11200 Gigs. can you fix that? they kept not believing me and now my account has been charged 12 times. I have spent about 15 hours on this crp. and I suppose you want ME to go back in and try and ask for support again. OMG. the last prob got fixed cause I think they saw my review. work your magic and help a girl out

1 ★ Text messaging stinks on republic. If you don't have Wi-Fi connection, there is a good chance you wouldn't be able to send or receive texts. It's frustrating. Luckily there hasn't been an emergency, but I have missed important texts because of this nonsense problem

4 ★ Great idea, and we've been members for year. But since I've gotten my Moto X gen4, every time I leave wifi I loose my cell data, and have to manually toggle airplane mode until it connects. It's very frustrating, and seems to be only an issue with this phone.

4 ★ Great app and great service. MY only thing that really bugs me is when someone sends me a picture it says "no topic" and I need to download it, which never works. Hopefully this gets fixed.

3 ★ Its not a bad app, but for some reason it keeps disabling itself and I don't know why nor can I seem to fix it. I just enabled it about an hour ago and it already disabled itself. I also just updated it.

5 ★ LOVE Republic wireless. It is beyond me why more people don't use this service. It's inexpensive and has great service. It's better than the other phone services out there.

5 ★ I've really liked the Republic Wireless plan. I hear about my friends paying $1000+ for an iPhone and hundreds of dollars a month. I just don't get it, my plan gives me exactly what I need!
