Description
SkyCandy is great for photographers, or anyone that wants to skip boring sunsets and see only the beautiful ones. There's also many more exciting features in SkyCandy! See the below list for all of the key features:
► Quality Predictions
SkyCandy uses a hyperlocal forecast to predict the chance of a beautiful Sunrise or Sunset based on known weather conditions that favor a beautiful sky at that magical time. Keep in mind that a high score (such as 80%) means that there is a very strong possibility Sunset will be beautiful, but it not a guarantee. The reverse is also true.
► Sun Direction Tool
Using the Sun Direction Tool, drop a pin anywhere on the map to know exactly which direction the Sun will be at any time, any date, and any location. Great for photographers that are scouting a photo shoot location and want to know what direction the Sun will be in when they are taking photos.
► Daylight Phases and Times
Get the exact times for Sunrise, Sunset, Golden Hour, Blue Hour, and more!
► Multiple Locations*
With the premium subscription, SkyCandy can be setup to check the Sunrise and Sunset quality at multiple locations you save to a list, as well as multiple dates and events!

5 ★ Took some time to verify how accurate is the app. When it gives a high chance for good sunset you can count on it.
3 ★ I get a notification regularly saying sky candy gathering data
1 ★ Never accurate ... not even remotely. My hobby is photography and I headed out yesterday evening with my camera because the app reported the chances of a decent local sunset at 75% (the highest chance I've ever seen since using it). So I headed off out with the camera, only to find that there wasn't even a wisp of a colour in the sky and didn't take a single photo! 🤣
5 ★ Great app. But I only use the free version. It tends to be a bit on the pessimistic side. But when it's chances are 50 percent and up you will probably want to go and watch the sun because it will most likely be beautiful.
1 ★ Absolutely useless app. Will show 95% or better chance for tomorrow's sunset, then drops to 10 or 20 less than 24 hours later. I know weather changes, but this app doesn't do anything that other apps do better.

2 ★ Not great. I told it to use manual mode for location since I wanted a prediction for somewhere else. It would "NOT* stop bugging me to turn on GPS. Lose 2 stars for that. I then wanted a prediction for tomorrow evening, but since it was late evening, it insisted on giving me a prediction for sunrise tomorrow, with no obvious way to get the sunset. Lose another star and get uninstalled.
1 ★ I'm constantly getting notifications about "retrieving data" or whatever and once again some greedy devs think they can apply a subscription model to an extremely niche market and actually have a sustainable profit. It's also very, very wrong most of the time, so useless. There are plenty of alternatives and I look forwards to seeing the demise of this one.
2 ★ my phone started vibrating as if i have notifications recently upon checking my notification log i can see this app is accessing something in the background every 10mins causes the issue. Uninstalling
2 ★ Inaccurate. Barely ever correct. 2 stars because the idea is great, but execution is poor. The algorithm that predicts the sunsets needs some serious tweaking
3 ★ Decent app. I currently have the free trial and I enjoy the features. However, it's rather glitchy. Sometimes it acts like I dont have the trial and wont let me use the features, sometimes it won't load anything (multi location shows forecasts for a second then constantly refreshes), sometimes it constantly tells me to update even though it's the latest version. That part seems to be fixed though. Good app, just needs some bug fixes. Will update my review to reflect this when they're fixed.
1 ★ I really wanted this app to be good, but its just not. Days it says it will be great its not. Days where it says its gonna be a really bad day for color, turns out to be really nice. Today its 2 hours before sunset, the app is saying cloudy with precipitation and it is sunny without a cloud in the sky. Better to just look out the window close to sunset and see for yourself.
