Description

This app helps you understand and precisely share what you feel daily and keeps track of what types of pain your treatments are helping.

WHY DID WE MAKE THIS?
You hurt. Your pain is chronic and complicated. You can’t remember everything. You want your doctors to understand, but you don’t know how to explain what you feel.

PAIN IS LIFE-CHANGING. HELP IS HERE.
Nanolume® developed the Pain Tracker & Diary to help you record the daily textures, intensities, and locations of what you feel, so you and your care team can better understand what you are suffering with and follow how your pain responds to medications and treatments.

TRACK IT BETTER. TREAT IT BETTER.
Pain is a complex experience. It often includes multiple pain types (layers), each with its own unique texture, intensity, location, and surface area.

By keeping a diary that integrates complex information, you can show your doctors what you are experiencing to help them make a better diagnosis, choose more appropriate medications and treatments, and monitor if your treatments are beneficial. In addition, by keeping such an integrated record, trends might emerge that would otherwise go unnoticed.

PAIN IS DIFFERENT.
Pain is a subjective (not objective) sensation that you cannot measure. Its assessment relies on each person’s ability to communicate what they feel. Nanolume® developed this digital diary to help you record what you feel every day.

INCLUDED FEATURES.
For each diary entry you create:
• Choose a Pain Type. Choose from a list of predefined pain types or create a customized pain type. Next, tap the icon of the pain type you feel is most intense (you can come back and add more types later).
• Select the Intensity. Select the intensity of your pain type using a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS).
• Draw an Outline. Use your finger to draw an “outline” of the type of pain you are experiencing on the front and back sides of a generalized map of your body.
• Calculated Surface Areas. The app displays the percent [%] of your body surface affected by each (or all) of the pain types you draw.
• Zoom. Need to see a larger image of your hand or foot? Double-tap: once to zoom x2; twice to zoom x4; a third time to restore the original size.
• Notes. Tap the “Notepad” icon located in the top-left corner of each opened diary entry to record any details of your medications or treatment results.
• Tap "Add Pain." Choose another pain type (layer) to draw.
• Save Your Diary Entry. Tap "Done" to create a snapshot of all the pain type layers you drew. The app attaches the date and time your entry was saved.
• Open a Saved Entry. Tap on the date and time of the entry you want to review. Look at the intensity, location, and surface area of each pain type you experienced (by touching the icon of the pain type you want to see) or see all the pain types at once and see how they overlap (tap the "All Layers" icon). Swipe the picture left or right to check how your other pain entries compare over time.
• Charts. View a summary of your data in "Charts."
• Forget to Save an Entry? Go back and recreate a "pain picture" from the past; then, use the "Calendar" icon to backdate the recreated entry.
• Calendar Backdating. Touch the "Calendar" icon to backdate any pain-picture you draw to create a record of what you remember from the past.
• Copy/Edit. Copy or edit a copy of a previous entry.
• CSV Export. Email or save a numeric file of your data, then open that data in a spreadsheet.
• Interactive Summary & Animation. Play an animation of your data to see how your pain types change within any period you choose by selecting the corresponding start/stop dates.
• PDF Export. Export your charts, drawings, and notes as a PDF file.

5 ★ This has changed my life. No more keeping a messy notebook and trying to describe my pain everyday in an effort to just make doctors understand so they'll help me (which has been failing for the past 3 years since this started). No more having to remember the exact time of the pain when I get home (this keeps track of the time I log the pain, and my phone is always with me). Seeing the pain visually is so much more effective, and having a chart to show a summary is just the icing on the cake.

5 ★ As someone who has been suffering from Chronic pain for over a decade, I find this app to be extremely useful for documenting my pain (including the type, location, and intensity) so I can share it with the doctors at the pain clinic. my only suggestion to improve the app would be to replace the front and back of the body with a 3D body that could be rotated.

5 ★ *Edited: Exceptionally easy to use. I have multiple pain causing health issues, including fibromyalgia, arthritis, and endometriosis. This app allows you to detail the exact type of pain (extremely specific & descriptive). It even allows you to create your own pain description. It's very easy to mark the location of the pain. Customer service is beyond fabulous! Maker knew I had fibromyalgia and sent me a new study linking low B12 and other info to fibro. I only wish my doctors cared so much!

5 ★ The app was easy to install and very intuitive to use. I like how this app allows me to track and locate each type of pain individually as well as collectively showing all pain types and body locations. It tracks intensity and the percentage of body surface affected. This too will help my doctor track my treatment progress. Thank you!

5 ★ This app has been very helpful with tracking my pain levels day to day, and will hopefully help me to get a diagnosis. The only issue I'm seeing is that copying a pain entry to a new day slides the pain areas over to the right just slightly. If that gets fixed, I will have no other issues with this app.

4 ★ It's pretty good in that it lets you draw specifically where the pain is. I would like it if they would also incorporate things like medications taken and therapies used during the day as well. Even incorporate activities like walking/pt/ot etc. This would be very handy to have all in one spot instead of me using 3 different apps to have all the information handy for my doctors.

5 ★ Latest update appeared to have erased the pain locale images, but the developer responded quickly to my concern. So thumbs up for support. This feature of the app is it's most valuable as a picture tells a thousand words. It's the best implementation of this feature in pain diaries that I've used so far.

5 ★ This app VERY EASY to use. And at ANY time I want I can use it to accurately describe current pain and location. It then allows me to write a note relating activity level or current flare. Then as a patient I can show this to my Dr who can get a quick and accurate presentation of daily life with chronic pain. EVERY PATIENT WITH CHRONIC PAIN SHOULD HAVE THIS APP.

5 ★ I have long searched for the perfect pain record app. I have tried more apps than I can remember but then I found Nanolume- a total godsend. This app is perfect and I would recommend anyone considering this app to buy it. It is so worth it. I can't praise it enough!

5 ★ I am a current patient and am having to translate myself from the McGill pain scale, back to pain 1-10. I find this program much different than Journaling. Thank you for creating this for all us in chronic pain. I believe this will prove very informative about the individual. An absolutely brilliant idea put into play.

4 ★ Superb - just one slight issue - it's not possible to add pain to the body map (for an entry) once it's saved :-( notes, however, can be retro added. Developer responded with a workaround: basically make a copy (makes a new entry with copied pain) but edit the date time to overwrite the original entry. Works, but I think direct retro edit/update would be preferable.

5 ★ I really recommend this app to anyone in chronic pain. Easy to use, and gets very detailed. I love that we can add our own types of pain the app doesn't start with. for those that have many types of pain, this is a great way to show your doctor(s) exactly what is going on and where.

5 ★ This app is amazing, well worth the money! Its designed for those of us affected by crps. It not only makes it easy for you to see n compare your good n bad days but a great way to break down your specific symptoms and problems to your specialist. I recommend this to not just crps patients but anyone that deals with chronic pain. Thankful to the person that developed this!🙂❤

1 ★ This app is good for visualizing your pain types and areas, but does nothing else. I need to be able to chart medication ans procedures and aee how the pain responds. furthermore, you cant delete an entry if you messed up, so i have random entries with 0 pain. wish i could get a refund - this is useless for my needs and i bought it when i saw in another comment rhat you could track how your pain respond to treatment. maybe you can do that offline by comparing to your calendar, but not in this app

3 ★ I like the choices for pain tyoes and the ability to draw pain areas. Would like some improvements. I wish i could print out the pictures and any notes i made and not just a csv file for my doctor. Also it would be helpful to be able to include pain meds.
