Description
Divvy consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy and durable bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations throughout the city. Our bikes can be unlocked from one station and returned to any other station in the system, making them ideal for one-way trips. Bikeshare is a greener, healthier way to get around — whether you’re commuting, running errands, meeting friends, or exploring in a new city.
The Divvy App gives you access to thousands of bikes in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going.
The Divvy App also shows upcoming public transit departures, including CTA ‘L’ train lines, local & express buses, shuttle buses, the Jeffery Jump Bus, Metra trains, PACE buses and the South Shore Line train.

4 ★ App works fine here. Samsung S7. I did have an issue with forgot password functionality where the app didn't recognize an email address as an email address. So I had to make a new account. Other than that, I purchased a ride, unlocked, and rode quite easily. I do wish there was some kind of payment history feature. That seems like a glaring thing to not have.
1 ★ This app sucks. It won't allow me to use my debit card. I called customer service and they asked me if it was a gift card (It's not) because the app recognized it as a gift card. The frustrating part is that it worked beautifully until a few months ago. On top of that the kiosks are pretty terrible with unresponsive touch screens. The convenience factor was a big selling point for me but after dealing with this issue I'm just going to buy my own bike.
1 ★ App did not work, ended up using the kiosk instead. Can't get a day pass through the app. Saw several groups of people at the same dock struggling to get the app to work. Really hard to check dock availability because it always wants to show you docks near yourself rather than where you're going, map constantly zooms in and out, so annoying.
4 ★ It was a little hard to understand how the codes work. It's the reader next to the actual bike, not the kiosk. I ended up losing my money for the first ride because it timed out. I was determined to give it another try, and really liked it. The bikes are slow and heavy, but it's been nice to be able to take one-way trips without worrying how to get a bike home if the weather turns. Individual rides are expensive, especially compared to the L or bus, but a year membership is reasonably priced.
1 ★ I'm unable to purchase a pass. I have most up to date version of divvy and android on my Pixel, but after filling in the CC info and hitting "purchase" nothing happens. No error message, nothing. I emailed support about it, and they just said "make sure everything is up-to-date". I really wanted to try divvy but it's a pain to use the crappy touch screen at the docks.
2 ★ "This bike is reserved" "This bike is unavailable" "This bike is locked for maintenance" I appreciate the rollout of this concept but service wise yikes. I think the idea is great but could use improvement. That being said the ride is nice, the map is convenient, and the interface is easy to use on the app. The bike usage/misuse and general city filth is most of my concern.
1 ★ My experience was bad. Real bad. I rode the bike for 15 minutes and was trying to lock the bike but there was no dock or chain to lock it. I went to 3 stations and it was the same. Don't use this bikes. It's 40 degrees outside and i was looking for stations. I called customer service and they said drive another 30 minutes to find a good station. Really???? Never using this again.
1 ★ Since April of this year 2019 I have yet to been able to purchase a single ride ticket using my app. It does not let me go past the complete purchase button and just freezes is stays on that screen it is super frustrating and app support has yet to help me. I have uninstalled and re installed my app and even tried changing credit cards none of which worked.
1 ★ I only rode with divvy for a few times now but now they're asking me for an ID. The thing is that when I try to take a picture of the ID, it just keeps loading forever. I tried a different phone and they keep rejecting my ID for some reason. Update: Talked to support again which is by far the worst support I've ever experienced, 3 agents just closed the chat as quick as possible before I could get an answer and all they say is that they'll escalate the situation, however I get no resolve.
1 ★ Pretty much repeating what others have said. No functionality. Not one aspect of the app has worked for me since downloaded. Never bought a pass, paid for a ride, unlocked a bike or anything. And readers/kiosks at docks are equally worthless, rendering the system useless.
1 ★ Unsafe bikes often have gear and brake issues, and the cracked and worn seats look like they've been stored for 7 years in snowbanks. What's really annoying is that dock stations are full and they don't have enough employees clearing things out. The app is all right, but counts are off too often. 2 stars for the app, 1 star for the vultures and vampires at Divvy/Lyft, aka Uber. Beware that they autorenew your annual membership. Sketchy as heck! Check your account settings.
1 ★ This app is a scam. The app is super confusing. It is not clear as to where you can use and you cannot. The customer service is not helpful either. There are several layer to talk to a person and they simply say you should have read the whole customer agreement before using the app. So, I suggest reading the full agreement before using this app. Otherwise you may lose your for a service you didn't receive and there is no way to get it back.
1 ★ The first time I tried to use the app was today. I didn't see a Divvy station where the app said one would be near Jackson Street and Financial Place. I found one on Adam's. However, when I tried to unlock the bike, it took forever for me to tap the calendar all the way back to my year for my date of birth. Then, it wouldn't accept my form of payment that I had already preset. It's a good thing that I made it downtown early. What a waste of my time!!!
5 ★ Changing to 5 stars because we can actually write what's wrong with the bikes now. I would still like it if the public transport button would be brought back to the main menu screen, and if we could use that function during a ride.
1 ★ The app started charging me for a ride but the bike was locked to the dock. When calling customer service, they refused to refund the 2.76 charge. Terrible customer service and a misleading app that got my credit card info without me realizing it.
