What does an Airalo eSIM plan come with?
• An Airalo package comes with data (e.g., 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, etc.) valid for a specified time period (e.g., 7 days, 15 days, 30 days, etc.). If you run out of data or your validity period expires, you can top up your eSIM or download a new one right from the Airalo app.

5 ★ So convenient! No more need to physically put a SIM card with an eSIM. I got a data-only eSIM while in Manila. FYI, this will have limited capabilities for phone number calling and texting. If you're ok with just using 3rd-party apps for voice and messaging (i.e. Whatsapp, Viber, FB Messenger, etc.), this data-only eSIM is for you! Before, when travelling, I would be so hamstringed by constantly looking for WiFi areas to do anything with my phone. With Airalo, I can be out and about freely!
1 ★ I have been quite displeased with this app. While it does work well for getting data on the go, I have had incredible difficulty with anything text related. I haven't been able to send a single text via SMS, MMS, or RCS as everything keeps getting blocked due to network blacklisting. Additionally, the eSIM itself seems to cause issues with my Verizon SIM, and I ended up having to pay for Verizon's international data anyway. Point being, know what you plan to use the app for before paying.
5 ★ Trip to Spain,Airalo worked perfectly for us. We did have a slight hiccup with 1 of our 2 esim phones, but a quick reboot solved the connection issue and we were quickly using it to navigate our way. We had another phone that was sim card only and it was a major pain to obtain one after landing on xmas day. But this inconvenience allowed us to compare connections and speed esim to sim card - no difference (other than no phone # on esim). FYI: our main esim phone used ~1GB/day for essential navi
4 ★ So far so good, trying to learn how to install and use the e-sim,I had problems installing (my fault,settings on my phone). Once i took care of the problem, the installation was smooth (scan).I think is awesome. So far I tried local data, let see what happens when I travel overseas.
2 ★ Went to Belize and tried to use this to get basic coverage for using WhatsApp but while it showed signal in a lot of places, it was always marked as roaming, and even with roaming data turned on, I only rarely was able to connect an app to data. Only real good side was it made installing the esim fairly easy, and painless
5 ★ Very easy setup!... No need for a physical SIM card, it sets up in minutes. I purchased the Europe wide card, and I was able to seemlessly connect from one country to the next, nothing had to be done on my end after the initial setup. As soon as I arrived in the new country via plane, I noticed the network provider updated automatically. It cannot get any easier than this... It's a game-changer for travellers. Highly recommended.
5 ★ As a traveler, eSims are the near perfect solution. You purchase, install and configure the eSim on your phone and then you have connectivity whenever you want! Since it's prepaid, you never have to worry about unexpected charges. As an American, I was used to spending $10 per day for a Verizon TravelPass - now I spend a lot less than that buying the data that I need when I need it. As I turn my US sim card off, I can't receive SMS messages but that's my only restriction.
1 ★ The app, connectivity, and customer support are non existent. They have unwanted apps download upon activation of Esim, and the data usage calculations are way quicker than I've ever seen. They said 915MB of data was used in a little more than 10mins. How is that possible. I barely used the Esim, and 90+% of my data was already used. Plus connectivity issues galore second time I tried to use Esim. All customer support does is blame the user, and sends templated responses. Stay away.
5 ★ Used for 1st time on a trip to Tokyo, Indonesia, and Singapore. Super easy to buy and install. Took a bit getting used to it at first, but then it was so easy, I just forgot about it. Got the 3GB version and needed to Top Up, which was very easy. Will certainly use again. Wife got tired of me having to turn on mobile hotspot so she'll get her own in future. Would highly recommend.
5 ★ I am not a technical person. However, I found getting set up for Airalo easy and stress free. I landed in Milan and easily activated the account. I was only there for 10 days and bought far too much data (5 gig and used only one) . However, it wasn't expensive. In two days, I'm off to Turkey for 12 weeks and bought 10 gig for 30 days. I only wish they had 90 day packages. I also found the connectivity in Italy to be excellent and hope for the same in Turkey. I highly recommend Airalo.
5 ★ Experience has been seamless with a Pixel 6 and Costa Rica ESIM. The in app instructions are a lot simpler than what's shown on their website. It's a 5 step process, which the app walks your through - purchase, download ESIM while on WiFi, and enable the ESIM through settings and two sub toggles (enable mobile data and roaming). I haven't had to use customer service so can't comment on that experience. Also they do email to ask for a review, if the experience is positive, or email if negative.
5 ★ Love this app! I got eSims for Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. The first two have worked perfectly, and it's been so convenient having data as soon as I land. I'm sure I'll also have no problem with the Thailand one once I reach there. It's also great being able to download eSims and pay/manage/monitor them all from one place. That makes the process so much more organized and seamless. Will definitely be using again for future travels!
1 ★ The customer support for the App is lacking. If you get disconnected and login again, you have to start over. Explain the problem and send screen shots, but nothing works at the end. It's great when it works, but if not, might as well buy another eSim from a more reliable company. The email Support Team is more responsive, but at the end of the day, I'm left without a working connection. Basically, I purchased a 30 day plan, and it stopped working after 10 days with plenty of data left.
3 ★ More complicated than it's worth when things go wrong. Unreliable. I purchased a Europe sim card for a trip that involved a few different countries. Getting the sim installed in France was straight forward however when we left to another country, it stayed locked to the France local carrier and was in "roaming/throttled" status to the point that webpages failed to load, calls dropped and Google maps was offline intermittently dispite strong signal. Contacting support was useless.
4 ★ They DO respond! It just takes a few hours sometimes. That being said, they did help me understand the issue, but if you are in a rush, just know you will be waiting a while for help. Bumped up a * from my original review. It's still not super intuitive and I have to troubleshoot almost every time but it is what it is I guess, since I tried an alternate one and couldn't get that one to work at all.
