App permissions

Defender SmartSignal 3.17.000 APK requires following permissions:

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

This constant was deprecated in API level 21. No longer enforced.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows an application to record audio.

Allows an application to modify the current configuration, such as locale.

Allows an application to modify global audio settings.

Allows mounting and unmounting file systems for removable storage.

Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.

Allows an app to use fingerprint hardware.

Allows an app to access approximate location.

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

1 ★ it seems to have a lot of bugs and doesn't work very well. needs and update to fix issues with it. one of the reasons I bought this system is to check on things at home when I'm away now I'm thinking about sending it back and deleting this app.

1 ★ Absolute junk. One of the most useless apps ever. It only occasionally connects properly. It usually just gives an error message "play error, click to refresh". This could be disastrous in an emergency situation.

4 ★ the defender w2k system is turning out to be quite impressive The hardware seems rugged the cameras have weathered a few storms now without any issues The resolution is decent The application seems to be extremely capable albeit user friendly it isnt (minus one star for that) So far Im very happy with this system and no Im not employed by Defender lol

2 ★ Something is very wrong with the app not being able to play video alerts, you need a fix to this bug now, Best Buy should stop selling until fixed, I will give it a week, better send some updates.

1 ★ App is like the cameras...doesnt work. Dont bother contacting anyone at defender, the response is a generic email that is copy and pasted. Waste of a few hours trying to get cameras connected.

4 ★ Update: 11/2019 Working Fine now I'm in. Crash bang boom!!! After clicking Sign up, At country selection screen when I click "Continue" then it Crashes. On Galaxy S8. Report sent.

1 ★ doesn't allow me to load my cameras at all! Cant this Dell tablet be a satisfactory device for the cameras? What am I doing wrong?

5 ★ Work good on S10, just has to login same WiFi/MODEM with your DVR
