Description
MailDroid is an Exchange/POP3/IMAP Idle Push mail client written from the ground up and and not based on the stock mail client.
This is the Pro version of MailDroid and contains NO ads. The pro version does contain some extra features that are not available in the ad version. Support for the pro version is the same as for the ad version (email only and no phone).
PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND TRY THE AD VERSION BEFORE BUYING. THE AD VERSION IS FREE!!!!
ACTIVESYNC AND CALENDAR IS NOT SUPPORTED YET!
SPAM SUBSCRIPTION (IN-APP PAYMENT) DOES NOT CARRY OVER FROM AD TO PRO.
*INSTRUCTIONS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE USING THE AD VERSION*
1. If you are on version 4.77 for the Ad and Pro version, most settings will transfer automatically if both are installed; however, we still suggest that you make a backup by exporting your settings to your SD card from the menu in the ad version, settings, import/export, export screen. Please be sure to click select all at the bottom of the screen or select one by one what to export. NOTE: Starting with version 3.24 you can now export out your pop3 emails in MBox format to export and import through different versions of MailDroid using the backup pop3 menu item under settings. Emails will NOT transfer automatically at this time.
2. Uninstall MailDroid Ad version (you don't need it anymore and can uninstall it at any point)
3. Install MailDroid Pro
4. On the accounts screen, import your settings using import legacy if you exported settings prior to 2.90 or choose import if you are on version 2.90 and above.

Ratings and Reviews

2 ★ Doesn't work with AOL or Yandex (compared emails in app to providers website = not even close). No way to customize the folders displayed in the menu, including a combined sent or trash. Swipe options lacking. UI customizations lacking. For a premium paid app, this sure feels like a beta. Hard to believe this is version 3.x? And the kicker... No clear way to contact support from within the app. #fail #uninstalled
1 ★ DOES NOT WORK ON ANDROID 10! DO NOT BUY! NO SUPPORT! NO UPDATES! LAST UPDATE JUNE 2018! LOTS OF ISSUES! Why don't you respond to support requests? The author said he didn't have to update. He convinced Google that Maildroid already conformed. You have lost all credibility and I was a diehard backer. I've tried to be understanding in case he had health issues that can't be helped. I was a chump! I guess he doesn't give a dam about ethics and honesty.
5 ★ Great App... I've been using it through my last 5 or 6 Android Phones, which is probably 2009 - 10 maybe. Does everything I want and ask... two different email addresses monitored! Love it!
5 ★ Works great with gmail and my ISP mail. Seperat notification for each. Mail sort into folders, a spam filter available. It just WORKS!
4 ★ I've recently come back to this app again after a few years and it's vastly improved. However, on my Motorola Vision with its 21:9 aspect ratio the app doesn't fit the screen, there is an annoying black space at the bottom. All other apps I've used (not just email) manage to fill the screen so I don't understand why Maildroid has this problem.
4 ★ The ability to move mail across account give this mail client an absolute edge. What is left is having the move and delete button at the bottom of the screen instead of the Apple syle at the top, it really daunt the experience and and prevent single hand use to just read email. It's that close to being the best mail client. There is plenty of space at the bottom of the app. Hope to see it happen, perhaps configurable if there is a good reason to have those two at the top.
1 ★ Inexplicably stopped working 2 days ago, & nothing I have done has been able to get this app back up and running. I can no longer receive any Emails using this app.
2 ★ Once a promising app, but it's not getting updates and old bugs grow tiring. It has all the features you'd want in a mail client except that attachments cause crashes and storage leaks. For some reason, my Fastmail Drafts folder reference is always corrupted.
2 ★ Not supported anymore. Multiple emails to author to find out how to transfer user-created folders to a new phone never answered, just received useless autoreplies that make it appear the author is still keeping MailDroid Pro up to date, but no evidence of that in his support.
1 ★ There was a time that I would have given this app Five Enthusiastic Stars, but that was years in the past now. Not only did I pay for the Pro version, but also the SPAM filter. This app has fallen off the cliff. It used to be the #1 app for email with lots of nice features, especially the SPAM filter, but sadly, it's only a shell of what it was in the past. Now, it is terribly slow and crashes CONSTANTLY with errors... I don't mean a daily crash, I mean Hourly crashes.... It's incredible.
1 ★ Not a great solution for email. Emails are slow to send and receive. It doesn't meet my needs at this point.
4 ★ This is much better than the built-in e-mail. However, there are a few problems: 1. Sometimes it get's stuck and only shows a black screen. Then I have to stop the App through settings (Force stop) and start again. 2. Fails to get any e-mails at all, just shows none. Again, have to force to app to stop and then start again.
1 ★ Sadly leaving after nearly 7 years of use... I was an early adopter of MailDroid, but I am sadly leaving the app. I cannot handle the battery drain and failed push notifications any longer, characteristic of an app that has had no updates in over a year. I'm especially disappointed that the developers simply dropped their $20-per-person paying customers without notice. I do, however, feel strongly that I've gotten my money's worth. This review is a warning to others: MailDroid is dead.
3 ★ TLDR: If you're using Gmail stick with the Gmail app. I get a lot of email for work and I really wanted to be able to star things from the notification so I bought pro (later solved with AutoNotification). But notifications are lacking. 1. Tapping a notification doesn't open the specific email. 2) Multiple emails in the same notification aren't expandable to preview message. 3) Can't customize the buttons on the compose screen. There are a few other things, but that's most of it.
1 ★ I don't recall if I rated this app when I purchased it a year ago but I'd like to update it to 1 star. The reason for it is that it would constantly crash when I was writing an email (and I'd lose everything). I sent back 'Action reports' and also emailed them but never heard a word back. Their lack of service for a product I paid for led me to try another app. It is 100% free and is working great, and I have already received more support (for a small problem) than I did with MailDroid. Good riddance!
